For whatever reason he's never really gotten paid by anyone and is unlikely to get paid this summer, so him taking a hometown discount to stay in LA is really just him saying "Id like to stay in LA". Not likely he'll be getting big money offers from any team.
"Come hell or high water we're gonna be there again. Its just something about the Lakers organization. Mitch is really, really good at it, he's really really good man...."

League source: Matt Barnes won't be considered for #Knicks because mini midlevel is being broken up. That likely goes for Nate Robinson too.

i don't see how anyone could be upset about it. He's going to get paid $3.5-4 million per year. no thanks to that contract.

I'm glad to see him get paid even if it is with the Clippers. Now let's make some moves Lakers!

If we paid Barnes that amount, I would have been really ticked off. He was worth that amount when he played for us...and he won't be worth that amount in 3-4 years.

Even though he signed with the Clippers, good for him. I've always liked Barnes.

Given that contract, I'm glad we didn't bring him back. Not worth it.
