Lakers have also inquired about Cavs guard Wayne Ellington with his agent Arn Tellem. Notice a trend? Putting shooting at a premium

I take it that Cleveland didn't give Ellington his QO?

If so we might be able to get him on the cheap. Would be a good addition for sure.

I'd love Ellington and I love the Lakers' approach to this off-season so far.

Fill the team with shooters and athletes and every position. I hope we can land 2 or 3 or 4 of these guys.

^Agreed. I like the thinking of our Front Office. We need more spacing. That becomes more important if we re-sign Dwight...

I recognize the name, but I know nothing of the player. Still, seems like we're looking at younger players for a change.

wow-we have been seeing interest for all FA.
right now it looks like agents pulling lakers to boost players value.
Ellington on the other hand is a very good shooter-but we already have meeks at this position
we need to look for SF and PG at this point

Chase/Correy

This.

Which kind of has me doubting how good he might be if I don't even know anything about him. I know all the other players mentioned tonight, and their strengths and weaknesses. It's not a good sign of your talent if I don't know your ability and your in the NBA.

Yes! A good 3pt shooter and plays good enough defense!

I love Ellington and really think he would be a tremendous fit for us. Underrated on defense and just a heady player who if he's open is a very consistent shooter.

Well, to be fair, he spent his first 3 seasons in Minny, next one in Toronto, half of one in Memphis, and finished last season in Cleveland. I didn't follow Minny too close years back without Love and Rubio, I couldn't name half or more of Toronto's roster every season, and I could only name maybe a handful of guy on Cleveland. He didn't look that great before he got to Cleveland, averaging about 6 to 8 ppg per season with Minny, Toronto, and Memphis, but when he got to Cleveland his average jumped to 10.4 ppg, 44% shooting overall, 37% from three, a lot of his averages went up in general actually. That could be because he averaged around 5 to 6 minutes more in Cleveland than he ever had though, so I don't know. This is my favorite site for stats if you want to read the full info on him

Free agent guard Wayne Ellington is drawing strongest interest from the Pistons, Bulls and Bucks, NBA sources say.

Amico sucks, but I have a feeling we're not going to get Ellington anyway.

Juuuuuust out of our price range there.

And again: more proof that the extra year other teams are giving is just too much for us to compete with.
