Michael Kidd-Gilchrist Lost To Michael Jordan In One-On-One

Even as he approaches his 50th birthday, Michael Jordan can still play. And the No. 2 pick in the draft will be the first to admit it.

Charlotte Bobcats rookie Michael Kidd-Gilchrist confessed Friday that Jordan beat him in a one-on-one game.

"It was hard for me," Kidd-Gilchrist, almost 20, told USA Today before the Rising Stars Challenge rookie-sophomore game at All-Star Weekend. "I lost. I lost to a 50-year-old guy. ... He's the greatest man that ever played the game.

"Oh, yeah. He's good."

How about taking it easy to make the boss look good? The 6-foot-7 rookie out of Kentucky said that wasn't the case.

"No. I didn't allow him to beat me," he told CSNHouston. "Because that's my boss? Nah."

Kidd-Gilchrist is averaging 9.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game this season.

With his ugly a** shot, I'm not surprised he lost a 1 on 1 game.

I'm guessing Jordan could beat this kid eating a cupcake.

I like the kid's athleticism, but I don't love his game at all.

Jordan can still shoot and he still has some of the best footwork in the game. If he still can get the calls whenever he wants, we should sign him. He used to be called the "pro's pro". Now he's the "veteran's veteran."

I'm sure that if Kobe gets his 6th, MJ will be motivated to lace them up for one more.

I can't even imagine a 50 year old guy (even Jordan, the GOAT himself) playing in the NBA. I mean, his minutes will have to be limited to like 15-20 per game (even that's a lot). Would he be able to keep up with the pace?

thought this dude was truly a Pippen in the making based on his hustle and dominating paint play from what I saw during their NCAA title run. Guess Cha kills everyones career.

Don't care about MKG at all, but I'd pay to see Jordan play someone while eating a cupcake.

Beating MKG isn't really much of an accomplishment IMO. He has no offensive game, he's an athletic defensive player. MJ weighs about 260(?) so all he needs to do is post up and over power MKG that way.

To quote this guy...

"He's still got it!"

The sentimental side of me would love to see a 50 year old Mike lace them up one last time, even just for a game.
