Minnesota trades 18th pick for Chase Budinger

Rockets going hard after Dwight Howard or Josh Smith

Personally I think this is a good deal for the Wolves, Budinger is a good player.

They were high on him too. I guess they're even higher on Parsons.

If they strike out on Howard, which they will unless they really do want to just rent him, then I'm hopeful they turn to Gasol next... But I'm not entirely sure they do.

thats how you parlay talent, Budinger was a mid 2nd rd pick and how you get a 1st for him....while Kahn has 1 solid 1st rd pick in Rubio

i don't want what they've got for gasol. would need to be another three-team deal. nothing in houston interests me.

I'd take Lowlry and 14/16 or 18th if they offer that....parlay the picks to a lottery pick or use to get another big time player. If Hou can make this type of deal than we'd also get another huge tpe but I assume Hou is over the cap as well?

Agreed, and the wolves keep adding to that bench. Their bench is getting very good.

Good trade for both teams. Budinger is a solid, solid role player. The Wolves have said they want to make a playoff push, and I think next year is the season they get there. Improved Love, Rubio back, quality SF 7th man type in Budinger. Bud shot 40% from three last season. He and Love on the floor together with Rubio working the floor is going to be interesting. They really need an athletic 2 guard with midrange skills who can create his own shot.

Gerald Henderson would be a good target.

Solid trade for both.

I'm not sure how you can evaluate the trade until there is a player chosen with that pick.... could be a bust..... could be a steal..... could be a trade....

Budinger is decent player that will contribute this year in Minn....

There is a good chance that Chase might actually start for them next year at SG/SF.

^i think he will. The wolves wing rotation has been pitiful.

considering emergence of Parson who is another 2nd rder like Budinger I'd say this is in favor of Hou for now. They dont have to lose Budinger for nothing and get a solid teen pick. Worse case scenario they keep it and find a player of need, dont think Budinger was needed anymore with Parson/Patterson around.
