Oh...if he is picked up off of waivers then whatever that team pays him is deducted from the 7+ million the Lakers owe him. If he clears waivers though he gets the 7+ million AND whatever the new team pays him. So from the Lakers perspective they definitely want to see someone claim him off of waivers.

^^ I'd love to see him go to the Knicks. Definitely don't want to see him on the Paper Clips. That would truly upset me. I'd rather he retire or play in China than that.

Metta World Peace spoke with Yao Ming today about playing for Shanghai. Knicks still 1st choice but Sharks intrigue MWP

Metta World Peace has cleared waivers and become a free agent, league source tells Y! Sports.

Free to where he wants. Glad he didn't get stuck on a bottom feeder (not sure why one of them would've wanted him, but stranger signings have happened this summer), he deserves to be able to go play where he wants (as long as it's not with the Clippers or Heat).

I hope he ends up in one of three places:

in order of my desires:
1. Laker bench as a coach.
2. China.
3. New York Knicks because he and his father would love for him to retire in New York where he's from.

No where else would make me happy. Especially not the Clippers and especially not the Heat.

@WojYahooNBA: Y! Sources: With Metta World Peace and Knicks sharing strong mutual interest, ex-Lakers forward becomes free agent. http://t.co/3Qp4Ywufg7

Multiple sources saying Knicks now, this one the most credible to me.

The China talk served its purpose. Now he goes home to NY. :jam2:

LA has been his home more so than any other nba city. Why uproot your family after all these years?

Yeah, I mean, it would suck to see him go to the Clippers, but we cut him so I can't get mad about anything he decides to do. If he wants to stay in LA and they want him I don't blame him if he goes there. He wanted to stay, we made a business decision and cut him, hopefully if he does go the Clippers he sucks for them though. :man9:

It is weird but funny at the same time when you see it on the court. I remember the Clips playing a lineup of all former Lakers..

Odom
Butler
Barnes

Knicks or Clippers...neither team is going to win anything. I'd rather see him go to NY tho...that way I have no reason to hate him.

Kinda don't want him to go to the Knicks, cuz I think he'd stay there & I want him to sign with us next summer. I hope that Clipper talk is just more trolling.. If Ron doesn't hate Griffin too much to team up with him, he isn't who I think he is.. I wanted to see him go to Sac & try to work with Cousins for a season.. But if he wants to be a Knick I hope he gets his wish.

I'm cool with Ron going to NY if he chooses that route.

Anyway who remembers this classic Ron moment?
