Strong indications today that NBA Finals hero Gary Neal will NOT be back with San Antonio. Which is why Spurs moved so fast on Belinelli

Marc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine 5m
Neal is said to be getting interest in restricted free agency at a price point that San Antonio, to this stage, has been unwilling to match$

Oh no, how will they ever get over this. Wait, I know, probably pick another name out of the D-League barrel that miraculously turns into a great role player.

Can we afford him? He's exactly what we need at the backup 2 spot IMO: a great, confident shooter who can create his own shot

We can only offer the mini-MLE or vets min to complete our roster.

I suspect that we add little to the team this year.

Has anyone contacted him?

It's strange that they move so quickly on Belinelli and just assumed Neal would get offers they didn't want to match.

I imagine lots of teams would be interested for 2 per, but why wouldn't SA keep him for that?

Jared Zwerling ‏@JaredZwerling 6h
League source: Gary Neal is likely to re-sign with the Spurs.

Guess the market dried up.

Marc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine 3h
Hearing: San Antonio in process of withdrawing qualifying offer to Gary Neal, making Neal an unrestricted free agent and sure to speed exit

Marc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine 3h
All signals suggest that Gary Neal, after strong play in NBA Finals, sure to be snapped up quickly once he becomes unrestricted free agent

Source says Bucks have agreed to two-year, $3 million-plus deal with free agent guard Gary Neal.

cfgardner ‏@cf_gardner 27 Jul
Bucks set at SG spot now with O.J. Mayo and Neal. Those two replace Monta Ellis and J.J. Redick.

cfgardner ‏@cf_gardner 27 Jul
My mixup on Bucks deal for Neal. He will sign for $3.25 million per year on two-year deal, per source.

cfgardner ‏@cf_gardner 27 Jul
Neal's two-year, $6.5 million deal quite comparable to one signed earlier in free agency by Carlos Delfino with Bucks.

Good for him. That's a good price, he's at the point in his life/career where he needs to make the most money he can.

I hope he does well over there.
