Nets' Reggie Evans first NBA player to be fined for flopping

In his 11-year journeyman career, Brooklyn Nets forward Reggie Evans has finally made history: He is the first NBA player to be fined for flopping.
Evans was fined $5,000 for his second flopping offense, a league source told Yahoo! Sports on Wednesday.

Under the NBA's new policy, players get one warming for flopping before an escalation of fines for ensuing flops is instituted. The league office identified an instance of flopping on Evans in the Nets' loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night.

In the demonstration video shown to players in the preseason, Evans was what one league executive called, "the star."
A third violation of the flopping rule would cost Evans $10,000, a fourth $15,000 and a fifth $35,000. Beginning with a sixth violation, the NBA could suspend a player.

I Saw the Play and MWP got the Foul.. MWP barely touch him and Evans went off acting like MWM gave him a Big shoved.

Wow, what a gigantic surprise that they chose Reggie to make their point rather than a much more deserving Blake Griffin.

Obviously the money doesn't mean anything to these guys, even if it's 5 figures, but you kind of have to wonder if the simple publicizing of it in a 'legitimate' sense won't be enough of an attack on their pride that they curb their habits.

good.but i think nba should to harder punishement for flopping. i mean they cheat on the game. they should ban these floppers for 2 or 3 games without pay .

Meh, Blake Griffin and CP3 has been flopping since day 1 of the season and still no fine... This BS rule only applies to the scrubs of the league...

Griffin?.... 50% of Chris Paul's game involves either excessive yapping to officials or flopping. He should be paying the league to still be playing....
