Tyreke Evans has given the New Orleans Pelicans a verbal agreement that he'll sign the four-year, $44 million offer sheet, I'm told.ESPN 1st

NOP/SAC/POR Agree to 3 Team Deal

Postby JSM on Thu Jul 04, 2013 9:16 am

Ailene Voisin
‏@ailene_voisin
Kings will not match New Orleans Pelicans 4 year, $44 million offer sheet to Tyreke Evans. Dealing for Vasquez and Lopez.

Sam Amick ‏@sam_amick 6m
Per @ailene_voisin report on Kings/NO trade, no deal done but scenario would send Robin Lopez to Portland, Vasquez to Sac, Evans to Pelicans

Sam Amick ‏@sam_amick 6m
Kings have other situations still in play, however, but obviously looking to get something for Evans rather than merely letting him walk.

Sam Amick ‏@sam_amick 5m
Unclear RT @cotterillfamily: @sam_amick who would Portland give up in this deal if it were to go through$

In proposed 3-way deal, Kings send Tyreke Evans to Pelicans, Nola's Vasquez to Kings and Robin Lopez to Blazers. Port sends picks and cash.

New Orleans, Portland and Sacramento have just verbally agreed to complete three-way trade July 10 that locks up Tyreke Evans as a Pelican

Jrue Holiday, Eric Gordon, Tyreke Evans, Ryan Anderson and Anthony Davis. Your 2013-14 New Orleans Pelicans.

Not a bad core right there for a team that has been in the trenches for a while

Three-way footnotes: Portland also gets Terrel Harris w/Robin Lopez, pays Lopez's $1.6M trade kicker and sends two second-rounders to SAC

Marc Stein ‏@ESPNSteinLine 46m
Sources say Pelicans, already hot for Evans, were all in when Reke told them he'd be willing to be sixth man in New Orleans if necessary

Surprised he'd be willing to come off the bench, if it came to that. Although, I still expect Gordon to be on the move if the small lineup doesn't work out.

not bad?

that's definitely a playoff time right there if they can strengthen the bench

^ It'll be tough for that team to get in the playoffs, but if they do I don't see them getting higher than the 7th seed. Gordon has been injury prone, Evans has had an inconsistent career thus far and it's uncertain whether that will change in NO, Anthony Davis needs to stay healthy and get bigger, and they don't have much of a bench. Just looking at the teams who made the playoffs in the West this season the only team they have a shot in being better than is Houston if they don't get Dwight.

Vasquez is a nice, not great, but nice player... and Lopez is a very serviceable backup C

But I still think NOLA got a steal. Tyreke is damn talented and the Kings are just a horrid franchise to play for. The guy never had a chance. I would not be surprised at all if EG goes down & Tyreke becomes a candidate for most improved player of the year
There are two teams that play in the Staples Center:
the LA Lakers and NBA Clippers.

This was exactly what i had in mind...you do not keep Vasquez and then get Holiday AND Evans...great trade for the Pelicans and actually, great deal for the KINGS. I think Vasquez is the type of PG that they needed....a core of Vasquez, McLemore, and Cousins is not bad under new ownership....and if they get Iguodala, they're looking pretty nice for the future.
