Official 2012-2013 NY Knicks Thread: Kidd to retire

Melo is on a tear right now. But Knicks really need Chandler and Amare to beat the Heat unless they just get red hot on the 3 pt line. Knicks did a lot better than I thought they were going to.

I hope they beat the Knicks. Speaking of Melo I don't understand why he was ranked under Russell Westbrook and I forgot who else. I think if he wins a title for his team they'll finally give him some respect.

Wow....it's been a long and rough road, but it feels pretty damn good :jam2:

Now, it's time to make some noise in the playoffs.

And oh, btw, congrats to my main man, FabFour! :man12:

Haha thanks man!!! You know, it doesn't even matter about the $$$ i won...it's more about the satisfaction of being RIGHT about a prediction...

In fact, nobody from ESPN chose the Knicks to win the division...majority had the Celtics...and even a few had the frickin BROOKLYN NETS and SIXERS!!! I knew the Knicks would be this good when i saw the moves they made and also how serious everyone was beginning of the year when they had the PRE-training camp....and of course, Melo kills it after playing in the olympics just like on 2008/09 when he lead the Nuggets to the WCF. I expect him to lead the Knicks to at least the ECF and lose to the Heat. But you never know right?

Yeah man, Heat are clear favorites but the planets can align just at the right time. Let's hope.

I also want to give a huge show of recognition to Mike Woodson. What he has done with this team in such a short time is nothing short of remarkable, and he is probably the best coach we've had since JVG left. In a city that has a revolving door for sports coaches and players for that matter, Woodson has quickly proven that he is the right guy to lead the Knicks for years to come.

Congrats to the Knicks and to Keyindabox..... NY needs a winner in the NBA again. I agree with the comments about Woodson. He's been a factor in holding the sometimes less than calm personalities on that team in check.

I hope you guys take Miami out as well. If I had to bet I wouldn't be on your side but here's to hoping the odds are wrong.

Glad someone on this site is having a good year..... :man10:

Haha thanks man, it sure does feel great to have a real Knicks team again. I mean, jeez, I was like 10 years old when they last made it past the first round! Hope getting over that hump is just part of what I pray to be a longer journey :man11:

Punk is the perfect way to describe him

He can ball though, especially when he's got a serious coach that won't let him F around (too much at least)

Yeah he can definitely ball, and it looks like he's found a comfortable role on the Bulls. Thibs might be the first coach that has figured out how to handle him to get the most out of his game. It will be interesting to see what happens when Rose comes back, though.

Knicks pay Pacers at 3:30 tonight. If we win then we clinch the second seed. No K-Mart and Tyson, both of whom will probably not play until the playoffs.

That term could be used to describe a few on the Knicks as well. There have been quite a few similar incidents in Melo and JR's past that make that seem like child's play. DId Nate grab an opposing player by the throat?.... did he kick someone who was on the floor?... did he punch a player being held by a ref and several other players and then run?.... did he shoot his little fingers off in the direction of the opposing team's bench?....

Nate's a punk in some respects but by no means was he the only one on the floor that night....

Difference is those guys on the Knicks haven't done any of that this year. Melo has changed his game and lead the Knicks on and off court in MVP-like fashion, while JR Smith has been tamed by Woodson and is likely Sixth Man of the Year. Nate doen't just have "man he's a punk" moments, he's childish all the time. Has never changed.

Knicks beat Indiana to lock up the second seed, got Boston in the first round with home court advantage....LET'S GO :jam2:

I think NY will win in 5, maybe 6.

I see 6 games at most, and honestly, I don't want to have to play Boston in a Game 7. They are very well coached and no doubt Doc Rivers will get the most out of them.

^ I don't think you have to worry about that. NY has kinda figured out Boston, and the Celtics just aren't good enough or deep enough to hang with you, assuming you guys are making shots / not making dumb mistakes.

They do have a couple of really proud HOF players, some nice defenders and a great coach, so it's not gonna be easy either. But in the end IMO the Knicks will pull it out in 5 - 6. Just a more complete team with a star in his prime and amazing shooters

Sheed, Camby and Tyson will all be available for Game 1 :jam2:

Also on the injury front, Marcus Camby missed his sixth straight game with a left fascia injury. According to Woodson, Camby will be available in the postseason, which is expected to start on April 20.

NEW YORK -- Injured New York Knicks big men Tyson Chandler and Kenyon Martin will recover in time to play in the postseason, coach Mike Woodson said Sunday.

"They will be there, yes," Woodson said before the Knicks-Pacers game.

There is also a chance that veteran forward Rasheed Wallace will be available in the playoffs.

Knicks pick up Q-Richardson....not sure why, guess just to fill up that last spot. He also has a history with Pierce, maybe that will help? :man3:
