JSM wrote:Yeah, I like Asik a lot as well. I'd love to have him on the Lakers. Whoever gets him for cheap from HOU will get a hell of a starting center, as long as they have sufficient offense around him. With Dwight there, some people have forgotten just how good Asik was when the Bulls let him go.

Asik and the #25 for a TPE? If Houston is serious about making a move at a max free agent, that'd be a good deal for both teams.

Asik's cap hit is still 8 million right? It's "off the books" we get charged an extra 7 million? I think the question becomes would the Lakers want to help out the Rockets like that.

Kobe- 23.5
Nash- 9.7
Asik- 8
Sacre- 1
Marshall-1
= 43.2 million (leaves about 15 million)

Draft Smart and sign Monroe? Draft maybe Capela/Payne or Robinson/Grant on the back end? That'd be a dream lineup for Lionel Hollins.

Saunders appeared on KFAN 100.3 and spoke about Love. Host: “Doesn’t he have a right to be frustrated?” Saunders: “No.” Host: “You don’t think so?” Saunders: “Just like I told Garnett, he didn’t have a right to be frustrated. Why does any player have a right to be frustrated? You’re either part of the problem or part of the solution.” Saunders: “Should the team be frustrated? Yeah, the team can be frustrated. But I don’t think any one individual should be frustrated.” NBCSports.com - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.Fzkm3OTK.dpuf

Saunders: “I tell a story. I tell a story about – we were in the locker room when KG was in like his third year in the league, and Sam Mitchell was sitting in the locker room. KG was in there, and we had lost a couple games, and we were all sitting there talking. KG started going, ‘Hey, you’ve got to start doing more.’ And he’s talking to some of the bench guys. ‘You’ve got to start doing more.’ And Sam said, ‘Hey, hold it, hold it. Let me tell you something. You’re making all the money. Hey, it’s your responsibility. You make the money, you’ve got to live up to that.’ So, that was the mentality, and from that time, KG never ever from that point, he always took responsibility.” - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.Fzkm3OTK.dpuf

Cleveland has this year’s No. 1 overall pick, a lot of underachieving youth, and the sneaky rumor that owner Dan Gilbert doesn’t care if Love won’t commit to an extension. Love would be his hook to lure LeBron James back to Cleveland. Then the conversation just might change. Boston Herald - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.dlSjrGE9.dpuf

Chicago, said to be Love’s other preferred destination, has the 16th and 19th picks in this year’s draft in addition to burgeoning talents Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson. Gibson, who will turn 29 this month, is deceptively old. It’s unclear whether the Bulls would throw the 2013-14 Defensive Player of the Year, Joakim Noah, onto the table. Can you imagine Cleveland giving up the number one pick and Tristan Thompson or something and then Love leaves in the summer and they trade Kyrie? :man10:

Wow. That'd be awesome. :man10:

I'd do it because I don't think our championship windows will overlap and I trust more in Mitch to build a contender than Morey. Until I see him actually go out and land a 3rd star, I'm not concerned. I mean it took them three years just to get a legit big man after swinging for the fences summer after summer. If you have a chance to go out and land a top 4 defensive big, you take it. Opportunities to get a top 5 defensive player at their position don't come along that often.

Wow, if they're willing to give away their entire roster for Love, that's a great offer for Minny. Not sure how they'd make the pieces work. Probably would have to find a 3rd team, but in terms of a return of talent, getting those two is a good haul.

Well then why does Love stay there though, you know?

All of these players want out, demand out, then gut the teams they're headed to. Love should be smarter than that. Stay in Minnesota, play out the contract, then just leave in the summer.

Phoenix wouldn't be a bad spot for him. It's not Chicago or LA, but it's better than inept Cleveland.

Morris brothers, Plumlee, Frye, Tucker, and Green aren't bad pieces to put around a star. They would have money to go out and get him another all-star. They would need a PG so Lowry would make sense.

And let's not forget Phoenix has the best medical staff in the history of sports.

If they trade away their picks and Bledsoe or Gragic, then he's left with a pretty similar team to what he had in Minnesota. It's a pretty lateral move.

The Dwight routine might become the new trend. Minny trades him to a team he doesn't want, and then he signs with his preferred team in FA. Lakers need to be patient.

The Lakers gave up some picks, but otherwise avoided a major catastrophe. New York wasn't so lucky.

I'll trade a guy who is demanding the Lakers. If he's demanding one team, then we have all the leverage and a fair agreement can be made. But if the guy has any hint of finding another home, I want no part in that deal. Howard was the risk that broke the camel's back. Since every player will enter free agency basically from this point forward under the new CBA, let's go after 90% of players that way.

Right now, I want to build the best team we can. Screw Love. If there's a way to get him down the road, we can cross that bridge then. But at the moment, let's nail the draft pick, let's buy back into the draft, let's sign a good FA, and let's move on to this season.

Rumors are flying over here in Phoenix that the Suns will try to deal with Min. They want to keep one of Dragic or Bledsoe but the entire draft is on the table from what I've been hearing on the radio.

Plumlee would also be in the deal. He's a favorite of mine... the guy is pure heart and hustle.

The Boston Celtics continue to pursue a trade for Kevin Love, offering the No. 6 and No. 17 picks in this year's draft, along with future No. 1's and young players such as Jared Sullinger or Kelly Olynyk.

Flip Saunders does not want to trade away Love, but he is beginning to realize that he would lose him for nothing next summer and this offer from the Celtics may be the best one he receives from any team.

The Wolves would own picks No. 6, 13 and 17, which could allow them to remake the core of the roster.

if I'm minny, I ask boston to take on a contract I don't want in addition to the picks. but then I do it. no way love stays there. the #6 in this draft has some value, and if you trust your scouting, you probably get at least one long term player between the two mid-firsts. that's more than what most teams get in trade for stars (retrospectively).

According to Stephen A Smith, everyone in Minny hates Kevin Love. From Flip Saunders to every player in the locker room. That is NOT a good sign.

Sounds a lot like Dwight.

I'd only take him if he came in FA. Otherwise I think we can go in a different direction and still get back on top.

Is that because he hates being there and losing for 6 seasons and he's vocal about losing? If so, I can understand. If its something else, I'd be concerned.
