Official Kevin Love Watch

There's only one problem with all these dizzying (and highly speculative) scenarios: They are meaningless unless the first domino -- Love actually coming to Boston -- falls. According to team and league sources, that isn't happening any time soon because the Timberwolves are less than enamored with what Boston can offer them. ESPN.com
Rumors tagsBoston Celtics, Minnesota Timberwolves, Trade, Kevin Love Share on FacebookShare on TwitterSubscribe to HoopsHype rumors

Taylor still hasn't recovered from the last seismic Minnesota-Boston transaction, which led to a Celtics championship. In fact, sources in Minnesota say, the thought of conducting another major transaction with Boston gives Taylor great pause. ESPN.com

Aside from Boston and Chicago, Golden State, Phoenix, the Lakers and Houston also will try to pry Love free. Cleveland has the No.1 pick and has interest in Love, sources confirm, but the feeling isn't mutual. ESPN.com - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.hRapKEEh.dpuf

The Kings have spoken with Minnesota about a deal, but nothing is imminent. A deal would have to make sense for Sacramento, meaning Cousins is not part of the deal. Sacramento - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.hRapKEEh.dpuf

Darren Wolfson: Word from two #Twolves sources: no dialogue with the Kings yet regarding Kevin Love. Reacting to a report stating Kings are leading the way. Twitter @DarrenWolfson - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.hRapKEEh.dpuf

Adrian Wojnarowski: Timberwolves are discussing Kevin Love trade scenarios w/ teams, but made it clear deal's unlikely until they've hired a coach. sources say. Twitter @WojYahooNBA - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.hRapKEEh.dpuf

Adrian Wojnarowski: Once Wolves hire coach, they'll likely try to sell Love again on a vision and direction. For now, his stance hasn't changed: He wants out. Twitter @WojYahooNBA - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.hRapKEEh.dpuf

I moved it to the NBA Forum. :man10: I just started it in the Lakers section because it would leave a shadow there and get a little more traffic hopefully.

The big news is that the Wolves apparently aren't really that excited about what Boston either has to offer or has offered so far. Suck it Boston!

Yeah I don't care what "massive push" the Lakers think they're going to make but they have the worst assets of any of the teams that are trying to get Love. :man10:

We have no chance in getting him having no tradable pieces except our relatively high draft pick this year. Maybe he'll cut the wait and sign directly next season but we really are not an attractive destination at the moment, competitiveness wise.

The BEST case scenario for us is that he does go somewhere like Sacramento or any place where he doesn't want to be and we get our hands on him in FA.

If Love gets traded, let's hope it's to a team taking a chance they could convince him to stay.

That means the Cavs and the Kings. The Warriors are also in the mix. The Rockets are too along with us and the Celtics.

Exactly. So we can undercut those teams and convince Kevin with better perks if he plays in LA like Houston did with Coward. I just wonder what Love wants, maybe an endless pass to the playboy mansion? We just need to investigate what floats his boat. Like Dwight might have demanded to smell grown men farts in the locker room regularly and Houston granted those wishes...little things to tilt Kevin's interest in our favor.

The Timberwolves privately maintain they already have fielded better offers from other teams, among them the Chicago Bulls, who can offer draft picks and some combination of Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson along with Carlos Boozer, whose bloated $16.8 million contract expires next summer and represents the kind of cap space rebuilding teams crave. ESPN.com - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.gc3I8wcY.dpuf

There are no accidents or coincidences when it comes to Love. Never have been, likely never will be. Not when he shattered that backboard on a breakaway dunk during a high school game for Lake Oswego High. Not when his high school campaign for Gatorade National Player of the Year unfolded with deft precision and planning. Not when he feuded with Nike after attending a Reebok high school summer camp, and not either when he chose to attend college at UCLA, where he stayed for exactly one beautiful, synthesized season. Oregonian - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.gc3I8wcY.dpuf

Won't ever include him in a Portland jersey, either, in case you wondered. As much as many of us would love to see the three-time All-Star return someday to the state where he grew up, to lead the NBA franchise he often rooted for, truth is, for Love, the master plan has never included the Trail Blazers, either. It's been Los Angeles-New York or bust. Said one NBA executive, "If you're Kevin Love you stay in Minnesota, you get married, and someday your future wife gets to co-host the cute local morning talk show on the local network. You go to New York, and the future Mrs. Love is co-hosting 'The View.'" Oregonian - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.gc3I8wcY.dpuf

Though suitors like the Celtics are nevertheless preparing to make pre-draft offers for Love, Saunders’ private actions are only now starting to separate from his public comments, and, according to a league source, the GM has slowly opened the window to start taking offers. Boston Herald - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.gc3I8wcY.dpuf

General managers are also attempting to interpret the point of Love’s visit to Boston last weekend, which included a Red Sox game. The Chicago Bulls, Golden State Warriors, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Lakers are all interested. “All I know is that Jeff Schwartz is a Red Sox fan,” the source said of Love’s agent. No, Love isn't too interested in Cleveland. :man10:

Cleveland would be a great trade partner for Minnesota. Thompson/#1 for Love? That'd be a fantastic return for them and would kind of make sense for Cleveland honestly. But then Love would leave in the summer and it would be the worst trade in the history of their franchise. :man10:

That's for Cleveland to find out, but it sounds like Minny thinks the 1st pick isn't worth Love. :freak2: :man10:

That's not for Love to decide. He may not want to stay (or maybe he might), but it's Minnesota's decision to stock up with as much as they can for Love.
