Kobe should have had 2 or 3 MVP's by then (compared with Lebron's stats)....

2002-2003 - 30/7/6
2004-2005 - 28/6/6
2005-2006 - 35/5/5

he should have won the MVP the year he missed the playoffs?

You must have missed the part where I said compared with Lebron's stats. As in if you compared their stats, Kobe was putting up similar MVP numbers compared to Lebron's stats. I was talking about the picture. Kobe might not have 3 MVP's, but he was putting up numbers similar to Lebron's in his MVP seasons. My point being just because Kobe doesn't have 3, it's not like Bron is blowing him out of the water in that regard, he was putting up MVP numbers in those seasons (with 2004-2005 being the weakest case for it).

Although it would be hard to see I have no problem with Lebron's skill being praised because plain and simple the kid can play and is one of the best in the game. HOWEVER, I have said once and will continue to say he is manufactured hype. There are no excuses for Magic, Bird, Kobe, Shaq, MJ or guys who didn't win like Malone/Stockton, Barkely etc. If you want to be considered one of the greatest, if not the greatest, then you have to stand up to the scrutiny. I have a friend who is a die-hard Miami fan and has been since I have met him 16 years ago. He always says, "when are haters going to get off Lebron". I say the same thing every time: No one chose to make a spectacle of changing teams, no one chose to have a parade before the season started and spout off the not 1, not 2, not 3... stuff, no one chose to "check my stats" and fail to show up in big games constantly, no one said walk around like you have won before you have won... no one but Lebron.

He isn't MJ and he never will be even if he wasn't being compared to the over-obsessed ghost of MJ like Kobe gets. He has always been more like Magic than Michael but the media wanted to deminish Kobe vs Michael so badly they had to keep making the comparisons. Lebron is both a perpetrator and victim of all this and unfortunately I don't think he has the "it" to really deal with it all.

That guy speaks the truth. So many excuses, now I keep hearing that the Heat's big 3 don't fit together, that the Thunder's big 3 do, so many excuses, just stop. If the Heat don't win it's on Lebron and Wade because they weren't good enough and didn't get it done. So far they're 0-1 in finishing 4th quarters in this series, they did't close last night simple as that, and Durant did.

That guy was a bit funny. I liked how he said Lebron's name : LEE-Brawn lol

In the end the media has done just what we have expected them to do and that is forgive and excuse any failures by the guy.

when the heat lose, they should just trade LeBron to the Lakers for gasoft and steve blake....We would be the perfect fit because Kobe will take the last shot and prevail and LBJ can be the number 2 he always wanted to be

I realize those cramps can be very painful, but LeBron is clearly a drama queen and a bit of a wuss when it comes to pain. He gets him in the face just a little and he's wincing to the cameras for a least a few minute to play it up. He gets cramps and he's in agony on the bench like he's dying, where a lot of guys would try to hide it. And of course this is the guy who sat out multiple games with like a sore index finger. Not that any of that takes away from his game, just mentioning it because I find it funny.

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/basketball/nba/story/2012-06-20/Miami-Heat-journey-to-NBA-title/55724146/1
James chose to work out with one of the best, Hall of Fame center Hakeem Olajuwon. "I've talked to him three times since the postseason started," James said.
He spent a week in Houston working with Olajuwon on post moves. Now, driving to the basket or posting up, James is nearly unguardable. Of his 42 made field goals against Oklahoma City, 35 have been in the paint, including 29 at the rim.

"Staying in the post will get you easy buckets," James said, relaying the instruction Olajuwon delivered. "He also tells me to continue to have fun. That's the thing he noticed with me this year. He's seen me have a lot of fun, and I give a lot of thanks to him for allowing me to go down there and work with him for that week."
Last season, James was criticized for not being a clutch player in the Finals. In clutch time against the Thunder — the final five minutes of a game when neither team leads or trails by more than five points — James ranks first, with 14 points, shooting 4-for-7 from the field and 5-for-6 on free throws.

Last year, after Game 6, after losing, once again, I was very frustrated," James said. "I was very hurt that I let my teammates down, and I was very immature.

"Like I said, last year I played to prove people wrong instead of just playing my game, instead of just going out and having fun and playing a game that I grew up loving and why I fell in love with the game.
"So I was very immature last year after Game 6 towards you guys and towards everyone that was watching.
"One thing that I learned, and someone taught me this," James said, "the greatest teacher you can have in life is experience."

Personally, I get the feeling that I was all wrong about LeBron. In the past, I painted him out to be a diabolical figure who was ruining what's "right" with basketball. But I really believe him when he talks about the difference between playing to prove others wrong & playing to win. When he talks about playing with hate and playing with love, it seems honest. In a way, he's outright saying he's not wired like Jordan... because that hate/chip-on-the-shoulder is the core of Jordan's motivation.

I have things to nitpick with the way LeBron plays, but that's for another day.

Chances are, he's just a spoiled/privileged kid who was handed the keys to two cities and boatloads of cash. On top of that he's being managed by a bunch of his hometown clowns. It's probably only now that he's starting to mature.

The growth in both Wade's and LeBron's games was the difference IMO..... LeBron played within himself and didn't begin to force shots.... he took what they gave him.... they cut off the drive and he trusts the shooters on the out side. They cut off the shooter and he gets to the rim.... He seemed to make the right decisions just about every time and had a very consistent 5 games.

He has pretty much transitioned himself to the Power Forward position. He and Wade made jack from the outside but they got half a dozen shooters to space the floor.

Postby puffyusaf#2 on Thu Jun 21, 2012 11:11 pm

Lebron showed up this playoffs and got his ring. I won't discredit getting the win no matter how much the player or the team annoys me. So many so-called Heat fans are out of the wood works now spouting the "what can you say now" cracks. It is still sad that ESPN will make this more than it should be but in the end many, including myself, said Lebron couldn't step up when it counted and he did. So props to him this time.

Despite still sounding egotistical in his presser, I still think Bron changed. His approach to the game is different. Then Wade's presser...

As much as LeBron turned a page tonight, Wade perpetuated that he's still a pompous, undeserving punk.

GFTO with that whole "oh you have no idea what I've been through, you don't wanna know what I've been through" routine. Honestly just STFU Wade. His game was one dimensional even at his best, and now he's a shell of himself. He never deserved Shaq and refs gave him his Finals MVP. Now we have to endure him yucking it up on the spotlight while LeBron does the heavy lifting. FU Wade, learn how to spell your own name.

Sorry it's a bit OT, but I felt it was fitting with my last post. Didn't know where to post it and I had to vent. Sheesh.
