Ok so I asked the question and my thread got derailed and locked. Now that the game has started and LBJ has

18pnts in the 1st qtr with a minute left................. I ask again........ Will LBJ try and break Kobe's record?

For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

I said in the Gameday thread he'll try but they'll probably have a huge lead soon, which means he probably won't play much at the end of the game.

Pretty clear he will try to break it. He's pretty much fake humble, acts like he's all about team, and while I believe he's all about winning, all about team alone is a joke, he wants personal accolades as much as anyone else. I honestly doubt he can keep up a high shooting percentage for an entire game though, but man 8 free throws in one quarter who knows.

He's played all of the first quarter, Cavs will probably give the ball back to the knicks a few times to keep it close so he can score 70.

He's literally taking every shot.

Everytime he touches the ball, he's putting it up.

Are you guys watching it or do you have a boxscore up?

I can't watch it, just checking the box score. And the thing about him taking every shot, the sad part is that won't be mentioned. If he takes 40 shots to get 60 points it won't matter, he won't be called a ballhog.

If he doesn't get it within 36 minutes, it's meaningless to me. Especially considering the fact that he's gunning for it.

I want to know how many times he's touched the ball and not shot in this one.

I figured that, since I live in NY I'm able to watch it.

Every time he's got the ball, he's going isolation. It's pretty clear he's gunning for it, and he's getting a lot of calls too (8 free throws in the first). We'll see if he can keep up the high percentage.

And JSM, it's been maybe once or twice if at all.

And on one play he CLEARLY traveled, took three steps but the refs blew the whistle. Clyde was furious.

And he's hurting is team too, Knicks with the momentum right now. The rest of the Cavs are just standing around when he gets the ball.

Harrington is ballin'

Harrington is balling. After leading by 15 the Cavs are only up 1. Wonder if LBJ took his teammates out of the game, huh BSPN?

He is, whenever his teammates get the ball they look like they don't know what to do and are looking to pass the ball back to him.

I doubt you'll hear anyone from the media actually say that though.

It barely even occurred to me that there's a chance Cleveland could lose this game. ESPN and others have made no mention of that fact so I forgot, lol. All the headlines are will LeBron break Kobe's record, not will Cleveland win, as if that's a forgone conclusion.

I am half watching it and I saw one play where he dribbled for 20 seconds and then took a 3.

I think he will stop shooting and start going for his triple-double in the second half since he already had more points in the 1st than Kobe did.

James is guarding Harrington now.

Harrington just had a nice fake but couldn't finish the fadeaway.

It almost seems like Mike Brown said something to him about getting the team involved. He's def playing different now. Maybe he just realized how selfish he was being.

He'll probably end up with about 48-12-8 or something like that. The whole gunning thing just isn't his game.
