Sam Presti on the amnesty clause: "We just haven't considered using the provision...We think Perk has a lot of value to our team."

You guys don't see Perks real value...... See at the team dinners he eats all the food which keeps the other guys in game shape. He's an off court leader
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Dumb.
Perkins sucks and they should cut him.

They want to try to trade him before trying to amnesty him. Keep in mind that amnestying Perkins means that they still have to pay him. His salary just comes off the books, so they pay less taxes. Is it worth paying Perkins to do nothing? That's up to them to decide. As bad as Perkins is, Hasheem Thabeet is even worse.

They chose wrong in picking Jerkins over Harden, and amnestying him would just highlight that even more. They'll try to trade him to Miami or one of those teams.

Guy doesn't know how to play but is allowed by the refs to set illegal screens... I dunno if he deserves to be paid for that.

Yeah but it helps their cap situation, no?

Depends on what the new cap is going to be.

If it's higher, then they may not need to amnesty him.

i don't understand their decisions over the past calendar year at all. the ibaka contract should have meant that perkins was on his way out, imo. instead, it pushed harden out. i guarantee they're kicking themselves over this.

that said, i don't see how they gain by amnestying him now.

They are trying to posture for a trade IMO. fi they indicated anything different a team will not consider a trade for him.... not that any team in their right mind should but you never know with Jordan running a team.... :man1:

He'd some serious dead weight and his contract (along with Ibake's) are serious anchors for this team. Not giving Harden a max deal will haunt them for a while IMO.

Durant seems so much like dirk to me. his career arc may be similar, too, in that okc may have to totally rebuild around him before they actually get a title.
