There's no doubt that the East is weaker than the West this season, so I completely understand your point.
However, I do want to point out that Miami has a record of 23-5 against the Western Conference, which is a better win percentage than any team in the West against their own conference. For comparison, San Antonio is 23-4 against the East, meaning the Heat are basically winning as well against Western teams as the Spurs fare against Eastern teams.
IMO while it would have been more unlikely for Miami to have won 23 in a row in the Western Conference, it still would have been possible due to how well they play Western teams.
