Miami is the favorites. The East is a joke. That being said, repeating isn't as easy as people seem to make it. The Heat have been extremely fortunate "So Far" this season. I am not sold that they will just "run" it. Maybe it is wishful thinking, maybe.
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

Well, the East they will run don't you think?

I know Chicago gave them a tough time and IND has as well, but in a 7 game series with the NBA refs and the ability to to form a storyline around LeBron as the GOAT?

This is the NBA's dream come true scenario. I would love nothing more than the Thunder (or Spurs) to take them in the Finals.

In fact, I think that a little rivalry between the Thunder/Heat would be EVEN better for the NBA. Another Magic/Bird duel. I mean Durant does model his game off Larry Bird's and LeBron is the closest thing to Magic Johnson plus freak scoring ability....

Just sayin'

They are the favorites but I think it's not gonna be as easy as everybody's making it to be.

In the East, I think the Knicks can really give them trouble. They match up defensively and they have a lot of offensive firepower. If they play solid pick and roll and make the extra pass, they can really tear them up (assuming they are hitting shots). They've already won 2 times against them, and a small collapse in the 3rd quarter kept them from beating them a 3rd time (they were up by double figures before halftime)
Their bench is deep, they hit a lot of 3s, they attack the basket, Chandler could probably crash the boards with force against them, and their D can be quite good.

Outside of NY, Boston, Indiana and Chicago could win 1-2 games, but I see Miami pulling it out. Maybe if Rose returns and Chicago finds it's "nich" they can take them.

In the West, SAS is still a threat, regardless of how they've played these past 2 weeks. OKC would probably lose, but they still have firepower, and if they get hot they can beat anyone.
Clippers look unstable, and the rest of the teams I don't think have what it takes, Maybe Denver, but it's tough.

Oh, and of course, there's the Lakers :jam2: :man10:

The Clippers are getting absolutely obliterated at home by the Pacers (who aren't even a great road team). They're imploding at the worst time and probably won't even get HCA in the 1st round after playing so well for most of the season

It's actually quite scary how bad this collapse is for the Clippers....after riding high at the beginning of the season...they're coming back down to earth but in embarrassing fashion. If they finish 5th, I do not have them beating the Nuggets or Grizzlies. They absolutely need HCA against both teams, even though they didn't need it last year against Memphis....but I really think this year, they are not able to hide DeAndre as much because they lost Evans and K-Mart and replaced those guys with Odom and Turiaf...both whom are not great defenders.

It's gonna be interesting to see the Clippers in the playoffs this year....they do have some playoff experience thanks to last year's little run...but I really do see them going out in the first round if they have to start the series on the road....

Clipps with a huge comeback. Their bench might play the entire 4th. Odom is balling out.

Tough loss for the Clippers....even tougher cuz Barnes got fouled on that putback...nearly got a technical right after his put back too....Clippers had many chances to win this game but it shows that this team has some glaring weaknesses....they're primarily a jump shooting team and they're gonna get eaten alive by the Nuggets or Grizzlies if they finish with the 5th seed.

This is nuts

Since 1/1/13: Lakers 23-21, Clippers 24 - 20.

And the difference in their records is the 2 losses by the Lakers against them. Crazy

Floppers are an average for some time now ... it won't probably matter against us though as CP3 is going to get everything he wants from the high PNR

First 50 point game I've ever seen all on jumpers (and FTs). I don't think he even took a shot inside the paint.. Sick performance

with the way it stands today, the clippers are 4th and memphis 5th, however if memphis has a better record do they get home court over the clippers in round 1 in the 4/5 matchup even though they are the lower seed?

Yes! :man1:
Nor can the Lakers get blamed for always making the right decisions over decades. At some point its not just luck or "gamble", its superior management and superior ownership.

you're sure bout that? as it stands now Clipps are still 4th in the standings even though they have a worse record then Mem. I think they get 4th regardless because of being div. champs, they just dont automatically get 3rd anymore.

I answered the question whether the Clippers lose home court to Memphis if the latter has a better record.

yea and the latter (Mem) does currently have a better record as it stands now but in the standing it still shows Clipps as 4th. So standings dont matter, they still lose home court?

^^Divison leaders get higher seeds if I am correct BUT if their opponent in the opening round has a better record like in the case of Memphis then the Grizzlies have home court.
