how about al farouq aminu? I think he's going to be a nice player this season...he was coming off a nice olympics so I'm thinking his confidence is pretty high right now. Had 17-7-3-2-3 tonight and there's literally NO back up SF on that team right now. He's going to PLAY a whole lot too. Just picked him up in 2 of my 3 leagues and put a waiver request in the other league...hopefully I can get him cuz I think he's going to be a solid player this year.


VERY impressed with Harden...although I expected him to put up those numbers. I saw how he ran that team and how clutch he was in the playoffs (and stop bringing up the finals, he's not the first guy to ever have a BAD finals...he'll ultimately learn from it). Also, playing in the olympics helped Harden a ton too.

Anthony Davis needs to PLAY more....u can't have ur #1 pick playing under 30 minutes....either bring stupid robin lopez (who played solid) off the bench and start Davis and Anderson together or play Davis MORE minutes. One or the other needs to happen. Austin Rivers SUCKED in his debut...i hope he can bounce back cuz no way roger mason should be gettting minutes ahead of him.


Damian Lillard is looking like the real deal and I'm sure glad I picked him in the 6th round in my league. 23 and 11...although maybe those numbers are inflated cuz its against the Lakers....but still for a rookie thats a solid line for ur first regular season game.


Jamal Crawford went absolutely nuts and the Clippers might have the best bench in the league....him and bledsoe could start for other teams.


Paul George is going to have a break out year esp with Danny Granger sidelined for a bit. I like what i see from him and i also took him 4th round in fantasy.


Once again, George Karl has mind boggling rotations...giving Faried only 17 minutes is ridiuclous...starting koufos over mcgee also another stupid move....and of course andre miller gets more minutes than he deserves and he plays WITH lawson....a disappointing first game for the Nuggets, and an impressive victory by the Sixers. Jrue Holiday is looking like he'll make that leap from top 20 pg to top 10 pg this year. Very nice stat line from him. Once they get Drew back, who knows how good they can be.


Everyone is high on Cousins and he played horribly tonight. Same goes for Al Jefferson...those boys favors and kanter can both play and Jefferson looks to be on the decline. Jazz have some nice depth and I think they'll be a playoff team this year.


San Antonio...business as usual...anybody that got Kawhi Leonard will be very happy this year. He's going to be an all star very soon. Him and Paul George are gonna have big years. Tim Duncan may be old, but he can still play. 24-11-3. Can't be mad at that.


Memphis are officially the Atlanta Hawks of the West. They will be solid and win 50 games, but they will be 1st round and out once again. Didn't really make any improvements to their team and still choke away games in the 4th. Gasol-Zbo-Gay is nice but they will probably miss OJ Mayo off that bench more than they think.


Golden State looks improved defensively....i like their bench a lot. Jack, Rush and Landry will provide solid production every night. Suns look nice too...and dragic looks to have filled the Nash role perfectly...the guy im looking at and everybody is somehow high on this year (pun intended) is BEASLEY. He didn't have a good first game, but he better step it up sooner rather than later. Some ppl took him high in fantasy too....as high as 4th round (i wouldnt have taken him this high). Harrison Barnes looked OK, i think he'll get better as the season goes on, but it doesnt help that Richard Jefferson is playing behind him and Mark Jackson could easily just go with the veteran at the 3 spot at any given moment. Stephen Curry looked horrible and I'm still wondering why they gave him an extension. The dude will always get hurt and his production has gone down since his rookie year. Not somebody I would ever invest in. Klay Thompson is the real deal and I expect him to put up very nice numbers.

Impressive game by Harden ... Houston spaced the floor with shooters and let him do his thing on the high PNR ... Delfino shot was on ... another solid bench player we could have used...

Watched the Clippers game from late 3rd to the end ... Bledsoe is getting better game after game , Crawford was on fire but will probably go 1-10 in the next game ... always has been the case for him ... Memphis still has no idea what to do down the stretch

As much as Stern pulled the last minute stop, if Gordon can stay healthy, he definitely got the better trade going for NO. Worked out well, especially getting a guy like Aminu who wasn't really a player looked at as highly. The guy has got hops.

Vazquez is also another good fantasy pickup, now that they got some talent. I doubt he'll be doing the double digit stuff all the time, but he now has the starting job.

The writing was on the walls for this. As a fan of OKC as well, I'm sad to see him go, but he'll finally get to reach more of his potential on Houston. Houston finally got the star they needed. And to be honest, this is better than anything they would have gotten last year, since Harden is super young.

Davis does need to play more, but Monty Williams is a pretty good young coach. I like that he's not rushing him. I'm sure his minutes will go up soon, but the big changeover in the NBA is the amount of games, where you hit the rookie wall. I do feel like Anderson will eventually see a lot of time with Davis, especially when they do more post up.

Rivers played one of the harder teams to debut against though. He had Kawhi, Danny Green and Stephen Jackson on him a lot. He only got some breathing room when Gary Neal sometimes checked him. It hurts that he has to start and saw the main guys. Probably didn't help build up rhythm. Hopefully Gordon comes back soon.

I like what Monty and staff is doing. They play hard every night (since last year). This time they have more talent so they can be more of a threat.

Maybe a little inflated, but Portland has got some talent. That's the nice thing about being on a young team. They at least have other solid players which makes his life easier (Aldridge, Batum, Wes Mathews).

He's lightening in a bottle. Like JR Smith, but less insane. Always nice to have a guy on the team who isn't afraid to take the shots, although when he's off, he can miss quite a bit.

Even without Granger sidelined, I would think this is his breakout year. He was already doing pretty well last year. He's finally getting it put together and the team is a lot more balanced to allow him to grow into that superstar. Him and Kawhi are the future all star wings.

Karl is dealing with "too much of a good thing". So much talent that he doesn't know what to do with it. It's crazy. But then Denver has a history of it, where they start slow and then run off streaks of winning, once they find a chemistry.

I think slowly but surely, we'll start to see Favors and Kanter gain more minutes, especially Favors who started to get more time to shine last post season. I'm so glad I picked him up with one of my last draft picks. He's going to be a beast. Great move to get him for DWill. Mo Williams is an underrated signing for them. And Hayward should continue to get better.

He owned the third quarter where he had 4 steals, 3 rebounds and reeled off 12 points. He pretty much took over and put the lead in the Spurs hands after a slow start.

Wow, Indiana could have had a George/Leonard set of wings.... I like George Hill, but Kawhi/Bertrans (still overseas)/Lorbek (although he's likely never coming over), love that deal....

For now, Spurs have Green/Leonard for less than what Hill costs alone. Kawhi is the perfect Spur both in what he brings in talent and his attitude.

They miss Darrell Arthur very badly (tore his ACL at the beginning of last season). The guy was breaking out. He was a big reason they destroyed the Spurs 2 years ago. Aside from ZBo last year struggling with the injuries, Arthur was their biggest missing piece. Him and losing Battier. Losing Mayo is just another one of those key players they'll miss.

If Bogut can stay healthy (although some of his recent injuries were freak accidents), they should do very well.

Dragic started to re-show his talent existed once Lowry went down. He was really good fantasy wise. Beasley has the potential, especially with the type of team Phoenix is. The problem is he has low bball IQ. So he'll have a good game and then a stinker the next. Maybe, someday he'll figure it out. The key for him being a good fantasy player is him doing more than just scoring since his FG% can jump around.

I agree about Klay. He was starting to show it at the end of last season little by little. He's going to break out this year.

It was MOSTLY a fantasy related post, as I would do this from time to time last year (if anybody remembers). I did catch the Spurs/Hornets 2nd half since it was on NBATV. I watched the Grizz/Clipps game since its local.

Grego, very good breakdown! I totally forgot that kawhi was DRAFTED by the Pacers!!! The reason they TRADED him was because they ALREADY had Paul George! Isn't that crazy? Yeah, I remember when that trade went down, I was like damn it, the Spurs done did it again. they always make smart moves. I expect the Spurs to be in the top 3 again this year, possibly even #1. They have the same team and Kawhi is in his 2nd season and looks like he has already improved, plus POP speaks very highly of him. You KNOW you're good when a coach like that gives you props.


Another guy to keep an eye out on (if he's still available) is SPENCER HAWES. If anybody remembers, he was a top 10 fantasy player last year in the beginning of the season until he got hurt. Obviously his value is directly tied to Andrew Bynum's health...but with that being a constant question mark, you might wanna scoop him up in case....esp if you HAVE Bynum on your team. Check out his stat line from tonight: 16 pts, 12 rebounds, 2 threes, 2 assists, 2 stls, and 5 blocks.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Spurs did get the top seed. Spurs went 20-2 to end the regular season once they integrated both Diaw and Jackson into the lineup. Popovich is just amazing. If Mike Brown were the coach, people would be saying how it's a "process" and how Diaw and Jackson don't quite understand the offense yet.

I think Duncan is at a point of his career where he got "accustomed" to being old.

Really though, I'm saying this as a compliment. He knows he's limited but he reads the game & picks his spots offensively and defensively. I think gets better at reading the game as he gets older. I wasn't a fan 3-4 years ago, but I am now.

TD looks impressive as slow and plodding he's been with age. purp n gold hit it right on: dude's become cerebral with age and knows where to pick his spots.

OKC meanwhile, all I'm seeing is jumpshot after jumpshot after jumpshot. Difference between Kevin martin and Harden is glaring: Harden brings the energy off the bench.

Pop has already played 11 people and it's only halftime. No way Brown learned anything from Pop.

Why am I not surprised Tony Parker outplayed Russell Westbrook again?

Westbrook continues to prove he has a long way to go.

I firmly believe Tony Parker is one of the best players in the league today, even if stats doesn't prove it (or even if a big part of that buzzer beater was thanks to Westbrook's nap)

I had a big smile on my face when OKC lost the game. Hope they lose their next 20.
