This. I was thinking about this after the game. We actually didn't get blown out of the gym like they did, so that might be a positive. Maybe that was because kobe dropped 40 though. But we defended them MUCH better as well. I think they're the lakers biggest threat. Once we click, I believe we can easily beat san antonio, okc would be a little more difficult. But clippers and grizzlies might be our greatest competition. They have the size to match( okc's size isn't a factor offensively), and speed and quickness to run us out of the gym. As well as depth.

And Miami's defense is clearly a problem for them. They've been among the worst defenders in the league. If we can get a nice fluid offense under D' Antoni, maybe thats something we can exploit. We have a great point guard and great center. 2 things that miami struggles with. Maybe it was right to get D'Antoni. The triangle might have messed with that advantage...

Bledsoe and Crawford are so fun to watch ... this gets me more fed up with watching our poor balanced roster night in and night out

Good game by the Clipps last night. I wish I can get behind them. In fact, I was a fan up until they got Floppy Griffin and massive inferiority complex Chris Paul. Now there's nothing I'd like to see more than for them to be swept in the playoffs by either us, San Antonio, or OKC.
In the real world, the day Steph awoke at 9 a.m. to begin his Ustream show, Kobe Bryant probably awoke at the same time, even if it was 6 a.m. in California, and lifted weights.

Anybody see the altercation between Z-Bo and Porkins?

Porkins: "I'll meet you at the bus"

Z-Bo "Aww hell nah, I'll beat your a**"

Both got ejected and I guess something happened afterwards between them. :man10:

I saw Perkins take off through the tunnel and thought to myself that he was going to look for trouble. There were reports shortly after that they had met up and police had to get involved, but on Sportscenter they mentioned that they were false reports, the police were never needed for anything.

I for one would welcome a boxing match between the two.

Oh totally, I'd pay good money to see them fight (and trash talk). It'd be hilarious

We have some sort of bench jinx.... If he were here he would put up 3.6 and 3 on 35% shooting in 22 minutes for us....

He Jeremy Lin'd it.

I have to say, the nuggets are looking pretty flawed and beatable. Their offense is extremely disorganized, they over-pass, they lack outside shooting and they don't have go-to plays or a go-to player.
Their hustle and athleticism is INSANE though, that's where they can really hurt you; still, I don't see them being as good as originally projected by analysts and fans.. Rooscooter was one of the first to suggest that the Iggy trade wasn't going to make them better, and IMO he was right.

Wow the Grizzlies are the real deal. It's crazy because they don't have O.J. Mayo so that's like losing part of their offense that gave San Antonio who were the best team in the NBA last season heck. Their coach is doing an amazing job. They don't have a bucket load of superstars either but it seems like you'll see different players step up on any given night outside of Rudy Gay.

:man10: All I did was note that a team predicated on scoring and athleticism lost a ton of scoring in that transaction that Iggy wasn't replacing. If you include replacing Nene with McGee you lose even more scoring. Why trade Afflalo when he's a "poor mans" Iggy making a lot less...

Well you were right- I had my doubts because of Karl, but yeah, they are worse than last season.

Also, Lawson is REALLY not living up to his contract so far.

i was on record about denver being vastly overrated coming into the season, thank you very much. not sure why everyone thought they'd be worldbeaters. mid-tier playoff team, first round exit. rinse, repeat.

It's early but they don't seem to be scoring as easily and are no better defensively. Afflalo, Harrington and Nene put pressure on defenses in ways Iggy and McGee don't. They may yet turn it around if Karl can get them to value each possession and defend.

Iggy has always been a little overrated in my book. He does a lot of things but none of them at an elite level so swapping over 30 ppg for 15 ppg while taking away bench scoring it showing up as a problem for them in the early season.
