this is why the new rule is silly. if you're chauncey, what about this situation makes you change your behavior next time? your team won the game largely due to your flop. you're going to flop again, fines be damned.

Why not pressure the officials to make the right call next time? If they make a bad call on an obvious flop, they should get the same penalties players face. You could provide them with some ability to check on the call to balance it out.

I see what you're saying, and I've seen many players do this--fall down on a last second 3. And from what I gather, it's usually not to try to get a flopping call (well, maybe unless you're Billups ). It's how your body falls when you're jumping away from a running shooter, especially last second when you don't have to stay standing for a rebound or to get back on defense quickly.

I guess you could still consider it a form of flopping whether it's intentional/obvious or not, and you're right, there have been much worse incidences in the past.

I did notice, however, that Billups stuck his left arm out to try to get a call as he was falling. It was a terrible call by the refs. Terrible, terrible, call. They usually don't call fouls on those, and when they do, it's usually a terrible call.

That Billups play was a HUGE flop, no question.

They should just change the name of the Flopping Rule to the Clippers Rule.

Lol. At least Blake Griffin has done LESS flopping this year....I remember every other play last year he would flop...I wonder why his numbers are down this year? lol.

BDG, you know I'd take any bait to HATE on the Clippers as much as I can...and I have RARELY, if EVER, disagreed with you, but I don't think that this was a HUGE flop...like it wasn't as obvious....it was very subtle because of how he used his arm at the very end of the play and fell down, it almost looked natural on replay. Was it a foul? Absolutely not. Was the billups flop as obvious as everyone is making it out to be? I don't think so. I think Billups has adjusted his "flopping" to be even more subtle and not as obvious...making it harder to determine whether its a flop or not. I mean look, he didn't even get a warning for this flop! That should tell you that Billups has jusst adjusted to the "flopping" rule by making it look more real...You get what I'm saying?

It's so frustrating to watch Rick Carlisle START derek fisher over DARREN COLLISON. I hope the Mavs lose EVERY damn game while Fisher starts. UNREAL that they are actually destroying darren collison right now...

The Knicks are for real this season, Melo and crew might be able to shut the media up once and for all, if they continue this successful route into the playoffs. It'll be interesting if it were a Memphis/Knicks finals I want my Lakers there though.

Damn no Melo either but the Knicks are putting it on the Heat.

A really good combination of vets and young athletes. JR Smith may be a douche but he is really talented and such a great option to have on a team like that.

Novak is fire too.

The Heat just don't play that well against NY. This might be a problem for them in the playoffs.

Even though they have a good record, the heat have issues just like we do.

GREAT game by the Knicks. My bets are looking REALLY good right now. I look forward to winning $500 at the end of this year....and possibly $1000 if the knicks/nets meet in the playoffs. My only hope is that Amare doesn't come back and screw it up. But i think with the way the Knicks are rolling, I'll be shocked if amare comes back and messes up any chemistry. I think they will only get better with Amare and Shump coming back. Just more depth, and with the amount of old guys on their team that get injured, they are gonna need that depth.

Heat problems start with Allen and Wade being liabilities on D ... it was expected from Allen but if Wade can't totally recover his speed and athleticism from this Summer surgery , they may be in trouble

^It's insane how much Wade declined this season. We all knew it was coming, but it happened fast.

Miami fans were just talking about Wade passing Bryant on the all time list. Yeah, like winning 1-2 titles riding Lebron and Bosh's coattails as the third option is going to proppel you ahead of Bryant.

It's a long season so who knows how he will look at the end ...

Same reasoning with the Knicks , it's early December we'll see how they look when Amare come back and how they will respond to the inevitable bumps on the road of the regular season ...

I feel like they have already hit bumps...they have injuries to a lot of different players already....starting with amare and shump, then there wsa brewer and kidd, and melo tonight. They just have a very deep team with experienced players. They can survive in spite of the injuries they have suffered. I agree though, with Amare coming back, its a huge question mark. But I don't really understand why everyone thinks Amare is literally gonna cause this team to LOSE games....the guy put in WORK this off season with Hakeem Olajuwon and he worked on his post game too. I think he's gonna be fine, and he had great chemistry with ray felton when they played together in 2010....he's got 3 ball handlers that can get him the rock in his sweet spots in pick and roll and pick and pop. I'm not as worried about Amare as everyone else is. He's going to be worked into the lineup, porbably come off the bench for a bit....and if he can be their 6th man but still play 32mpg, then it won't matter whether he starts or comes off the bench.

The guy I can't wait to see is Shumpert. He's their best defender in the back court, and he showed some real nice progress last year as a rookie. I hope he gets enough burn though...that backcourt is loaded already with felton kidd brewer jr and prigioni.
