OKC has a bone to pick with Miami and they let it beat them. Westbrook especially, he gets angry and hotheaded and starts playing like crap, but the team overall just seems to play dumb against Miami.

No joke, but I honestly think the Clippers could win a championship. They have a deep roster, chemistry, a great point guard and big in Griffin(flopping notwithstanding) as well as solid, reliable role players. Win streaks are obviously a result of many things beyond just a team's talent(07-08 Rockets come to mind) and there is the chance that they kind of average out towards the mean, but on paper they really do have as good a team as any.

I'm amazed that the Celtics are still able to win games like that.

Didn't watch any of the other games.

don't buy the clips as champions. as best record in the regular season? looks likely unless paul goes down.

depth means a lot less in the playoffs, though, and that's one of the main ways they're beating people.

Clips as champs???

LOL

Not today, not ever.

Their win streak is impressive, but no wins against any real teams except Chicago, and Chicago is only 15-12. :man10: This is the same Clippers team that previously had a 4 game skid, ending with a home loss to the Pelicans minus Anthony Davis. :man1:

As much as I want the Lakers to snap their 19-game win streak, the Clips are probably not gonna get there.

Yeah but they're a different team now. They are playing great defense adn they're blowing literally everyone out. They have multiple guys that can take a game over, and a few them are on the BENCH. They are pretty scary and really their only challenge is what to do with billups and hill when they get back....barnes and green have played really well....same with bledsoe and crawford...somebody will get cut from the rotation....im betting it'll be green but he has been quietly solid for them. The clippers are also managing the minutes of their star players really well...cp3 and bg only avg 32mpg. They grew up last year in the playoffs with that game 7 road victory against Memphis...even though they were swept next round, that's something that every team needs to go through. OKC went through it, and now the CLippers are going through it. They have a good mix of vets who have been there and young guys that grew up in the playoffs last year. Also, DeAndre came back with an improved post game and they go to him sometimes.

Very impresssed by the Clipppers and they're VERY under the radar this year....last year they came in SUPER overhyped and I hated them cuz I thought they didn't deserve the hype. THIS YEAR though, nobody is paying attention, and to be quite honest, they deserve some hype and attention. 14 game winning streak, don't care who they played, is still impressive in today's league. Then again, they are the Clippers...they don't have the hype and pressure of a Lakers team....every single team gets up to play against the Lakers....opposing teams don't view the Clippers this way yet. But soon, they might.

Yeah, they put together a very good team. Barnes and Crawford are surprising me. Then again, CP3 can make others better, so I should have expected that.

It's just that even if they're the #1 seed with 62 wins, they still can't beat any of the top echelon teams in a 7 game series, I don't think.

Well, maybe they have a small chance against SA because you never know when they'll just get swept out of the blue. But OKC and Miami? Not enough maturity and experience to beat them. Give them a couple more years together and then we'll talk.

dallas got robbed on that kaman face smack no call. they had the ball up 1 and should have been on the line with one minute left. mismatch the other way leads to the westbrook jumper that gave okc the lead for good. dallas choked after that, but they should have been playing from ahead, not behind. bs.

That last flagrant foul called on Jared Sullinger is one of the worst I've ever seen. Absolute b*******. I hate Boston, but that was a terrible call against them.

16 straight wins is still 16 straight wins, and no matter what teams these wins are coming from is still impressive. Now-a-days... We can barely beat the Bobcats :mhihi:

I'm still not seeing what it is about the Clippers that would make them any less worthy of a championship. They have a deep roster, including specialists who are fully aware of their roles and limitations, they have players who can take over, they have willing passers, but perhaps most importantly, they have a strong sense of unity and collective focus on what they are doing. Sounds like a championship caliber team to me.

Not watching the game, but just saw an update of MIA vs. DET and I guess Detroit was down ~15 and then blitzed Miami in the second with a 41 point quarter to eventually go up by 15 themselves, they're holding a double digit lead at the end of the 3rd. Without seeing the game, I can only say "I know how you feel, Miami fans"

dude that argument is getting old now....can we lakers fans stop bringing up how many championships we won in the past? Clippers fans have had it bad for god knows how long...if i was a fan of their team i would be feeling pretty damn good about 16 wins in a row, that's for sure. Let them enjoy it. If you're going to debate, talk about the present, not what has happened in the past.

With that being said, the Clippers do have a chance to go all the way...HOWEVER...if the Lakers start clicking, I believe the Clippers would have to AVOID the Lakers in the playoffs in order to get to the finals. The lakers are not a good matchup for the clippers. Nash is the key as he will run cp3 through a million screen and rolls and force him to use up a lot of energy. Also nobody on the clippers can stop Kobe. Nobody on the clippers can guard Dwight or Gasol. Lots of mismatches in our favor...and rotations will shorten in the playoffs so their depth won't kill us as much. If MWP and Meeks can match Barnes and Crawford, the Lakers will win in 6 or 7 games.

why is it so hard to appreciate or acknoledge another teams success? it was clear before the season started that the clippers bench was going to be deep, and now, its showing. they're playing exactly how they should be with that roster. is it a guaranteed championship? no. but they are definitely contenders. I don't see them getting past the thunder, and hopefully not us (but if we dont play better, they'll easily beat us). just watch the games without homer glasses on and its obvious. they're playing great and are fun to watch, that doesn't make anyone less of a laker fan.

If you keep throwing out that argument then no team (besides Boston) in the league can compete with our History. That is however the past. If Clipps do win it all this year, will you be saying "Let's see them win 2." Then 3, 4, you get the point. If that's the case, then it'll never happen in our lifetime. I see no reason to not root for our little red-headed step brother. Some Laker fans are getting insecure & envious that they're doing so well. That's pretty pathetic IMO.

lol maybe some laker fans are actually laker fans. We don't have to enjoy or be happy for another teams success, knock yourself out with that.

Nothing makes me happier than to see the Clippers lose, trust me. In fact, I found myself wanting the Heat and Celtics to beat these damn Clippers cuz they're so good this year and they're in our division. All I was saying is stop using the 16 championships argument to say that we're the better overall franchise. It's played out. Start focusing on the PRESENT. Of course Clippers got some MAJOR help from David Stern, and that's something I will never give the Clippers credit for. Sure they signed a bunch of guys that are doing well for them...but the most important guy on their team is still Chris Paul and he should be on OUR team, not the god damn clippers.

I have a ton of friends who are clippers fans, like they're ACTUALLY clippers fans, not bandwagon, and they're gloating right now, but I'm going to keep quiet and give props and hope to reverse jinx the CRAP out of their team down the line.

i'm only mad at the clips' success because chris paul should be in a laker jersey and blake griffin's a superdouche.

the legacy talk just makes us lakers fans feel better about the fact that the clips, at this point, are like, five times better than the lakers. still, bragging rights are determined in the summer, not the winter.
