parker vs. glove

parker vs. glove

I am sorry to disagree with you guys on this one, but Parker killed Payton two years ago in the first round. Yes, Payton was having to play one man team defense, and run the team. But, still Parker is not afraid of Payton and the name the glove is no longer appropriate. With Seattle under George Karl in the mid 90's he was the anchor to one of the best defenses ever, with only solid defenders with him and nate mcmillan. They set incredible steals and turnover records. He has definitely lost a step, and Karl Malone if you watched games since 1998 with Tim Duncan has no chance guarding Duncan as is.

Okay, so the if the Lakers are so great on defense. Prove it. Malone does not guard the basket at all, he just strips the ball when playing up close on his defender. Lakers also did not get any more athletic. Now, Fisher can't obviously guard Parker based on the past two years, and even Mike
the [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] Bibby. SO, where is the great Laker defense coming from. They are old, slow, and only Deveann George is a true defensive presence on the perimeter. Kobe won't be playing and RickFox is injured for a long time. Shaq only blocks point guards by the way if you did not notice!!! This team on OFFENSE is definitely scary, since Malone is the best power forward in the league to play with Shaq. Payton will be good on offense. BUT THE PAST THREE YEARS HALF OF HIS OFFENSE EITHER FROM SCORES OR FREE THROWS COMES FROM PLAYING IN THE POST. NOW, HOW IS HE GOING TO GET THOSE POSTUPS IN THE TRIANGLE AND BEING BEHIND SHAQ AND MALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

umm, did u see KOBE is not playing? Please take that back

even if he DOESNT play, the lakers will dominate ANYWAY. Are u forgetting that the lakers went 67-15 in 2000 and they were led by ONE man, named SHAQ, kobe was nothing back then he was jus the 2nd guy, he BECAME a star in the playoffs, but not during the reg season. SHAQ is the sole reason why the lakers won 3 in a row, and he will be the key to winning it this season. If SHAQ can play all 82 games this season, LOOK OUT. The day he plays 82 games is the day he becomes MVP and not GAY [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] DUNCAN

anyway payton DID get worked by parker but payton did some damage to parker too if u forgot

and payton has a new attitude and he will play his heart out this season and look to kill every point guard tha lakers encounter!

Payton to match what....all of Parker's 6 points...please. Payton has the luxury of Shaq holdin down the middle, which Parker didn't have to contend to in Seattle. Payton couldn't do much against Parker with Tim and David pluggin the middle, but now Payton's got Shaq. Parker was just like Bibby, in that he had one good playoff showing and now sucks. Parker is much better than Bibby, but look for him to perform another disappearing act when he faces a legititmate PG in Payton...you guys remember how he disappeared against Kidd in the Finals and the other Spur's guards...Speedy and Kerr....had to come to the rescue.
Bottom Line: Payton wants a ring, Parker doesn't want to get swatted by the Diesel....Payton wins this matchup....thanks to the Big Equalizer

i think Parkers really good... he's getting closer toward his prime and Gary is just leaving his prime so Parker will probably outplay Gary at some spurts but, not enough to lift the Spurs
