Yep, he did this at the trade deadline, too..

Playing with plantar fasciitis and tendonitis...I guess I feel differently and appreciate the effort.

But I do understand why everybody wants to trade him...I'm just not sure why people hate on him so much.

I would rather appreciate what Timmy does and be in awe of what he can do at his age, than fault Pau for not being able to do the same. One just broke down quicker...but then again, maybe the way Pop has played him over the years can attribute to that. :man12:

Anyways, I guess do the ends justify the means?

So the masses want him traded cause the production he's putting out isn't worth 19M. And with that crowd, I can agree with.

I appreciate what Pau does off and on the court. But he's breaking down...and his production isn't for a lack of effort.

You want to trade his 19M for an infuse of youth and I totally get that and agree. But the unnecessary hate this guy gets is baffling.

I do believe its going to be hard to trade the guy in this landscape, but I do understand why fans want to trade him. However, if he addresses his injuries and comes back healthy, I'm totally fine with him remaining on the roster and expiring next summer.

I would rather start Jordan Hill and get 10 / 8 AND good, solid defense out of him than Pau and his pansy-!@# triple double (I know, that sounds crazy as I type it, but his interior defense is what's killing us - and has been for years)

Pau's just not the type of player that goes out and wins you a playoff game, especially not with this roster.

Real classy for folks at Staples to give him a standing ovation.

I definitely appreciated what the guy did for us and how he represented the Lakers off the court. He'll be missed, but its hard to justify 19M. Had it been half of that, I definitely would want him back.

He will be missed if he's gone.. Same way people wanted Lamar, Shannon, Ariza, Farmar, Sasha, Barnes, and Phil Jackson gone but then were wishing we had them because we know exactly what they brought to the table.

Pau is a fundamentally sound, high IQ, loyal player. He's not the Pau of old (and yes his contract complicated things) but he is still serviceable. I am going to hate to see him go but if it helps improve the team, I'm all for it. At this point though, I am not that optimistic considering Jim is running things.

Pau's a class act, if he is gone I'll wish him well, no matter what he helped bring us 2 titles, I could never hate the guy outside of heat of the moment gameday comments.

We just better hope he doesn't sign for a contending team or a team with 1 piece away when he's a FA if we do trade him. That'll show us.

Eh, I'm really not concerned with Pau coming back to hurt us, I don't have nearly as much confidence in him as you do, and unlike you I WANT him gone.

if he gets us Kevin Love that'd be amazing. Teaming Rubio with Pau might revitalize him and his career and the timberwolves franchise having a champion leader. love with Dwight would be great bc he's a great outside shooter and rebounder and defender and is from ucla

In our dreams.. Pau's value has gone down.. And even in the beginning of the season when the Lakers were said to be interested in a Pau for Love trade, the Wolves said everyone but Love and Rubio were available.

Besides, as good as Love can be, I've had enough for injury prone players.

This.

Couldn't care less what the box score says - Pau is a non-entity on the defensive end.

0-16 without Kobe in the playoffs.

Smh Pau gave us 3 great playoff runs, 3 total crap playoff runs too. H aged so quickly like he fell off a cliff. Wish him well, but he needs a new home as he's not a starting 4 in this league,

I love Pau. But truly he has only shown us glimpses of the player he used to be over the past three seasons. He just isn't the same most nights. He's a tremendous talent, but he's aged way more rapidly than I ever would have expected. He's not old. But he's creaky as hell. He's slow and his knees are shot. I saw a little bit of his fire again this season, but his body just didn't hold up.

19 million reasons that his time has come though. I look forward to seeing him again when his number is retired in the rafters of Staples. But I think this summer he's got to go.

It's really tough because I may be one of the few on here that believe this but I think he does come back next year better and well rested, especially if he can get that knee procedure done in Germany that he has recently talked about.

Problem is for us and the Lakers FO, I just don't know if all that is worth $19 million. If Pau was only going to be making around $9-10 million next year I wouldn't mind at all if he came back and would probably hope for it. Just simply put.....$19 million even though its expiring may be too much to handle. Either way for me personally whether he's back or gone I'm okay with.

I will always appreciate what he has done for this team and I especially won't ever forget that day I came home and saw we had just acquire Pau for basically nothing and got to keep LO. One of the happiest, most exciting moments of my life as a Lakers fan.

He may come back better, rested, healthy... but the fact remains that he is a center now, and having 2 centers does not work when their styles don't compliment each other. If Pau had a consisted midrange game, and if Dwight could post, they'd be perfect. We'd be talking about a duo better than Marc & ZBO.
