I know we are waiting for tomorrow and Dwight, but seeing some trades and Earl Clark going......really has me kind of annoyed we aren't getting anyone.

I can't pretty much say with a ton of confidence that where ever Dwight lands Morrow will go there as well. He's really good friends with Dwight which makes since why we haven't have much from Morrow's camp. Just waiting on where Dwight lands.

He would be a nice fit for our team no doubt.

I still would rather sign Wayne Ellington than Morrow and most of the other FA we've been interested in.

I know nothing about this guy, so I just looked up the stats. His first four seasons, GS and NJ

http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/m/morroan01.html

10.1 ppg 48% field goals, 47% from 3
13 ppg 47% field goals, 45% from 3
13.2 ppg 45% field goals, 42% from 3
12 ppg 41% field goals, 37% from 3

That's really good, I'd take that in a second even though he's gone down each season a little bit, but we have to take into account he was getting 23, 29, 32, and 26 minutes per game those first four. Then for some reason he went to 3 different teams in the next 2 seasons, his minutes went down to 9, 12.5, and 5, and his scoring went to

Toronto: 4ppg, 44 field goals, 37% from 3
Atlanta: 5.2 ppg, 42 field goals, 40% from 3
Dallas: 2.3 ppg, 50% field goals, 20% from 3

His first 4 years are WAYYY better than his last 2, I have no idea what happened with his minutes, he was getting 4.8 mpg in Dallas. The stats don't show he fell off though, they show he wasn't getting time, the 'per 36 minutes' stats are all pretty much the same, showing had he gotten minutes he'd have produced the same. Bottom line, not sure why he stopped getting playing time, but if his true self is the first 4 years of his career, I'd take him in a second. If he really is as good as his first four years and can flat shoot, and we benefit from his mediocre past couple seasons, great.

Would take him with or without Dwight, but obviously he's not coming here if Dwight doesn't stay.. Hopefully Dwight announces he's staying tomorrow & then we make some moves.

I don't think Dwight's the only reason he's interested. He got barely any playing time the last few years. I doubt he has tons of suitors, and we probably have the biggest need for shooters in the league so he'd know that he'd likely be able to get a spot in the rotation with us.

Meeks 2.0

Bring in a supposed dead-eye shooter and ends up shooting well below his career average

Although in the case with Meeks his shooting was pretty overrated to begin with, never once hit 40% in his career

He's definitely someone we should go after and something I think we can get for the veteran minimum. He hasn't been great these past couple of seasons but I believe if he gets consistent minutes and is in a good environment he can contribute to a team.

Meeks wasn't thought to be a dead-eye shooter. He's a career 37% three-point shooter. Morrow's worst season is better than Meeks's career numbers.

It's interesting and it's no surprise that two of the teams who have contacted Morrow are in the Dwight sweepstakes. I see that as an important factor. Those teams that are seriously close to getting Howard want to sign his friends for cheap. I am thinking that all of these teams have offered the minimum. And since they're all offering the same, he's likely to go with the one that has his buddy Dwight on it.

I'd love to pick up Morrow. He lost some minutes in New Jersey when his 3PT% dropped below 40%. Then in Atlanta his minutes were almost non-existent. Then in Dallas they were literally non-existent.

If he came here and got some legitimate time on the court, I think he'd be a really good floor spacer for us. Hopefully Dwight makes the right call soon and we can move forward with some of these roster moves.

Morrow, Barnes, Copeland. I'd love those 3 signings.

Finally, one of the guys that we've been talking about for weeks shows up on our radar...

Of course we won't get him. The 2 guard is already stacked with Kobe getting all 48 minutes. :bang:

Anthony Morrow has agreed to a two-year deal with the Pelicans worth a little more than the minimum, per source. Player option for year two.
