Place Bet … 3 pt contest Now Stephen Curry vs M. Jackson

And…..we'd all lose. LMAO. What's with the amazing retained shooting motor skills of these guys. A while back Jerry West with the demo talking to young kids on Youtube. And now this :man4:

And I haven't even watched the clip yet. This kind of skill retained blows me AWAY.

Warriors coach Mark Jackson dominates Stephen Curry in a three-point shooting contest (Video)

Ball Don't Lie

Mark Jackson was not a good three-point shooter. In fact, until my editors alerted me about this video clip, I was of the understanding that I would not have to witness Jackson’s ugly push-shot ever again, unless I happened upon an old Indiana Pacers game on NBA TV, and someone decided to double-team Rik Smits.

Because that’s the only time you’d want to see Jackson chuck it, a 33 percent career three-point shooter who spent the prime of his shooting years working with a 22-foot three-point arc from 1994 until 1997.

So when the current Golden State Warriors coach was paired up with Stephen Curry – well on his way toward becoming one of the greatest shooters in NBA history with his career 44 percent mark from long range – in a shooting contest? It doesn’t seem fair, especially for a pass-first guard like Jackson that hasn’t played an NBA game in a decade.
And yet, after a spirited Warriors practice in Indianapolis on Monday, the old man went to work:

(The best part about this clip? This is at Bankers Life Fieldhouse’s practice court, which is visible to any passer-by that would want to take a gander at an NBA practice from the street outside.)

Jackson does have a bit of an advantage, here, as he worked on this particular practice court for two seasons following the opening of the then-Conseco Fieldhouse in 1998. The veteran didn’t exactly spend his post-practice hours firing up 500 practice jumpers a day, that ship had long since sailed, but we’re sure the sightlines are more than familiar to him.

A fantastic showing from the Warriors coach, though, regardless of (ex)-home court advantage. Not bad, for a prolific passer that was never supposed to shoot that much, in the weeks leading up to his 49th birthday.

OMG what fun. The video and audio is 1st rate high definition. The smack talk. Steve Black there too watching and enjoying it. So happy to see him in a great situation with a great bunch of guys and a players' coach. He deserves it.

And Jackson just stroking it. The guys here that compare what Marshall brings to what Jackson had are dead on. Kendall just lost his mojo a bit with all the roster changes and Farmar coming back.

Good stuff :jam2: :jam2:

Jackson's shot is so ugly, but damn he was calling them before they went down and walked off before his final make went down.

OG right there. :jam2:

Hand down, man down.

Momma, there goes that bad bad man again.

Even though MJ beat him, Curry's shot is so crisp. his shots that went in just snap the net.

No doubt, as he's an incredible shooter. But in this little competition more of Jackson's shots were dead on swishes. Curry is probably embarrassed this is getting so much play but the way Mark was shooting Stephen would have had to drain almost all of them. They didn't even get to the right side of the key for some reason.

I still love and am thrilled with the Marshall comparison for a kid that is only 22 years old. So similar. He definitely could be what Jackson was if he is motivated to be that good.

^^ they didn't go to the right because MJ had already won. He took 3 spots. Only 2 more left.

Ahh. In the NBA's 3pt contest it's total makes though from all 5 positions in the time allotted isn't it? That's what I was thinking of. I must have missed they were ticking off wins on the positions.

Yeah, they did it kinda strange. I knew when Curry was 1-5 from a spot. Once MJ got 2 makes he stopped shooting. Once he won 3rd spot they were done.

No matter what happened, I'd still put my money on Curry the next time they compete.

Barnes, that vid you posted seems to have been taken down or something. Can't watch it, apparently because of copyright restrictions.
Don't worry about it, I'll look around and will probably find a clip I can watch in this damn place :man10:
