Queens wanna trade Doug

Queens wanna trade Doug

Postby LakersChamps04 on Mon Feb 09, 2004 11:35 am

I've been to a lot of boards, and as of late, I'm hearing alot of Doug Chrisite trade rumors. Apparently its a 4 team deal involving Doug Christie. That could only be good news to us, because at time, doug could give Kobe some trouble with his D, but if he's gone, Kobe will have his way

This so belongs in NBA discussion...

but Lakerschampso4, you're right, heres a link right here by Ailene Voisin right here about Christie being sent away in a 4-team deal Christie being traded?... and that'd probably be good for them, I compliment Geoff Petrie's moves, no seriously, just read this portion of the segment:
Doug Christie just hasn't been Doug Christie. Though always more of a defender and energetic, offensive facilitator than prolific scorer, the 12th-year pro has seen his numbers decline in virtually every important category, including minutes played.

Before matching his season-high with 43 minutes, contributing 13 points, eight assists, five rebounds, and utilizing his length and quickness and harassing Andre Miller into an 0-for-4 performance Sunday, Christie had endured a particularly brutal five-game stretch. Twice, he went scoreless. Once he managed zero rebounds. Four times he passed for a single assist. And several times he found himself on the bench in crucial segments, replaced by newcomer Anthony Peeler or the ailing Bobby Jackson.
In other words, Doug has been a totally different player and the Kings, although needy of his defense since they're one of the worst defensive teams in the league (surprisingly), seemingly want bigger young bait rather than a player whose stats are declining...he still piles up steals and contributes some in every statistical category, but this is probably the ripe time to trade him, even if it hurts the Christie family's feelings about it, because he still has a lot of trade value in him...

and heres what they have to say in KingsFans: Christie to be traded?
they obviously don't feel too optimistic about it...except for Brent Barry :man11:

they even mentioned a trade that goes on like this:
Okay, here is a trade that is acceptable under the cap:

Jalen Rose for

Doug Christie, Lawrence Funderburke, Gerald Wallace, and Jabari Smith

We get the superior player. Toronto gets a player with legitimate potential (Wallace), a steady veteran in Christie, and they get Funderburke and Smith off the books after this year.

I would do it.
:man1:

Why would the Raptors trade Rose? They got him because they needed a scorer, they wouldn't just give him up so easily. :bang:

I would LOVE, I mean LOVE to see Fox do that same thing in front of Chrisitine I mean Christie after he hits a shot.
What do you get when you fall in love? You only get lies and pain and sorrow.

Why because Fox got his assed kicked then needed help from other teammates in order to jump Christie from the back? :man13:
