I know it's only pre-season, but ... Trevor Ariza (1-11) 3 points tonight in his first game as a Rocket.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

Actually I believe it's his second, he had 9 points in their game yesterday, 3 for 8 shooting. Still though, ouch, not so easy when you don't have Kobe and Pau setting you up for wide open shots.

As for KG not being KG, we can only hope, he is pretty old. Just saw the highlights for that game, he looked alright. Stupid Glen Davis thought it was halftime when it wasn't and started running to the locker room and had to come back though. :man10:

man that Curry dude in the warriors that Lakers were playing against has some sick stroke in the beginning of the game. He was drilling everything all over the place.

Anyone watch last night's outdoor game on TNT?

Morrow apparently likes playing outside. Dropped 30 points off the bench against Phoenix.

youngbloods to watch for

jeff teague
CDR
sam young
anthony randolph
darrell arthur (very much like randolph)

i would love to take a stab at acquiring one of these guys (no shot at randolph/teague though) as they are on teams stacked with too many developing talents.

^ Teague is looking great this season. Really glad the Hawks finally have a backup PG to groom as Bibby's replacement and he's a hell of a lot better than Law ever was.

I don't think the Hawks dare move him. Cause like I said, he's the future starting PG of that team and he's their only backup PG. They don't want to relive the nightmares of losing out on another big time PG and trading Teague only to watch him go on to be a very successful starting point would do that (not saying he'll ever be a fraction as good as CP3 or Deron, just using that situation as the example).

Michael Sweetney is fat as hell, he must be pushing Eddy Curry.

Mo Evans tore the Grizz apart. I was checking the box scores and very early in the 3rd he was sitting at 21 points. Finished with 27 in 26 minutes.

Sure is. I was curious to see what his numbers would be in their last game cause Lee was rejoining the starting lineup and they didn't change much. That's a good sign. I think he's going to have a big year.

after watching melo take a beating in portland, i think he's the new AI. refs love to hate this guy. he drives to the hole, gets contact, but never gets the whistle. it's a shame because melo is better than what the box score shows.

That's one of the reasons that he can relate to Kobe, and not only that, but looks up to Kobe as a big-brother type figure.

WTF is wrong with Baron Davis?

going from all-star and top 5 PG in the league to being one of the worst starting PGs in the league...

can't defend, can't hit a shot if his life depened on it...too many TOs, bad attitude...

its the beard
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.
