Eric Gordon is the most underrated player in the league right now and it's not even close.

I'm not saying that just because he had a good game against us either. They need to get rid of Baron and pair him with a past-first PG so he can grow in that backcourt and play a two-man game with Griffin.

^ And you know what's funny? I was watching one of their games a few weeks ago, one of their commentators were saying he's the best PG in the league. I was like, really? Deron and Rose have been outplaying him BY FAR.

Just a random thought I had while looking at some dunk videos. Where the hell did the notion that Lebron has a 44" vertical come from? It seems like what everyone says, but there isn't any source for it, just something that everyone kind of unanimously believes. I mean, dude definitely gets up, but he's also very long. I think his vertical is more like 38-39" at best.

Random thought about Lebron's recent big games. He had a 51 and a 41 point game, in both of those games he started basically perfect. He went 9-9 in the 51 and 11-12 in the 41 before cooling off a bit(but still finishing > 60%). What I'm wondering is, is this Lebron attempting to have a legendary game? as in, 81 point territory. Is Lebron capable of doing that?

It's kind of weird because sometimes when you watch him play(or just see the box) it is almost like he is holding back, like he could be a lot better if he cared to be, and his 30/7/7 game is just sort of a given. But then, other times it looks like he is really trying to open up the engine, but ~50 is where he tops out. When you think about it, ~50(or close to it) is where most great scorers top out.

So, Lebron is about the same age Kobe was when Kobe dropped 81. Hate him all day long, but the reality is, there are only two players in the league right now who have any chance of coming close to 81, Lebron and Kevin Durant. If it is going to happen with Lebron, it is going to happen fairly soon(within the next couple seasons), or not at all. I just sort of wonder if these recent scoring outbursts aren't Lebron trying to do something like that.

ESPN Fantasy "Latest Player News", JJ Hickson:

Hickson bounced back from his terrible four-point, three-rebound performance against the Rockets on Wednesday to post 24 points (9-17 FG, 6-10 FT), 15 rebounds, and five blocks in 39 minutes against the Knicks on Friday.

Spin: Before Wednesday's epic fail, Hickson had recorded five straight double-doubles. He's averaging 18.0 ppg, 11.1 rpg, and 1.5 bpg in 36 mpg in 10 February games. On top of those positive numbers, Hickson is also shooting 48 percent from the floor this month.

How excited was someone that they got to slip in an "epic fail" while doing their job? :freak2: :man10:

4 teams from the East has already clinched, but only SA in the West... Indiana, Charlotte, Milwaukee and Detroit are fighting for the 8th seed... Philly will probably make the PO...

40 wins in the West? 7th seed... The Pacers won 42.9% of their games but they are 8th seeders...

The Eastern conference is still pathetic...

Simmons on the Mavs:

FATALLY FLAWED
10. Dallas Mavericks
If players were forced to argue their own MVP cases, here's what I would write for Dirk to say (add your own German hip-hop accent):

"Um, have you ever watched us? We were playing three-on-five offensively in crunch-time when Caron Butler was healthy. In every close game, we run every play for me. No, really. Watch us some time. According to 82games.com, I'm the league's best clutch scorer: in crunch-time, I make 49.5 percent of my field goals, get to the line more than anyone else and make 89 percent of my free throws. I have chunks of Kobe's crunch-time prowess in my stool. And that's playing with Tyson Chandler and Shawn Marion (who couldn't create shots for themselves if they were posting up Yi Jianlian's old chair from the 2007 draft) and Jason Kidd, who's only been decomposing since the All-Star Break. When I got injured in December, we went 2-8 while I was out, then 1-2 as I eased my way back into shape. We're 50-15 when I'm healthy even though Jason Terry is my second-best teammate -- he'd be the fifth-best Bull, fifth-best Celtic, sixth-best Laker and the fifth-best Blazer (a team that we're playing in Round 1).

"I thought for sure we'd make a deadline deal to help me. We didn't have much to trade because everyone on our team is between two and 12 years past his prime except Roddy Beaubois. Our front office decided Roddy was untradeable, which sounded good on paper when he was injured, but then he came back and started playing, and now it's just plain awkward. So far he's looked like either a poor man's Tony Parker or a homeless man's Tony Parker. The Dallas employee who decided Roddy was untradeable must have been the same guy who guaranteed those 1,400 temporary seats would be done for Super Bowl XLV. To be honest, I have no idea how we ended up with a 3-seed. We're going to lose in Round 1 or Round 2. Crap. Anyway, um ... vote for Dirk for MVP!"

somehow that never really occurred to me when i typed that post

but really, could steve nash be anyone's second best player on a true contender? the closest was when him and amare lost to the spurs.

if i had to build a team with dirk and nash, i'd still think to myself on how i'd need a #2 to dirk, not a #3 to nash.
