And why exactly does Detroit need Calderon when they have Will Bynum/Stuckey/Knight? horrible management.

Third team not yet in stone but Pistons have had interest in Calderon all season & have two SFs to help MEM fill Gay void: Prince & Maggette

LOL so Grizzles want to get rid of Rudy G's horrible contract by adding another horrible contract in either Maggette or Prince? do these people even have any common sense?

Maggette is an expiring contract too, just like Calderon, it's not a horrible contract.

im going to be really ticked off if the stupid PISTONS take on Calderon when they already have Knight/Bynum/Stuckey. This is exactly why the Pistons will continue to suck. Horrible management.

salary dump, it was a mistake for Det to bring back Prince in the 1st place. Prince still has 2 yrs left on his deal, I honestly think this is great deal for Mem, Prince is a great team player ala Allen both are defense 1st type and will do anything and everything to win as oppose to Gay who just wants to score. Would not want to face Mem at all if we made the playoffs.

Wow the Pistons are a real **** organization.

First they convince Prince to stay, sign 4 PGs with no legit wings, then promise Prince not to trade him.

Then they trade him for a PG. :man10:

Wow.

this trade is so confusing

so memphis doesn't even get calderon in return but instead they get ed davis, a bad contract in prince, and austin daye?

and then the raptors get gay and haddadi

how is prince a bad contract? $7mill/yr is not bad, thats barely half of what Gay makes and Prince is a much better fit IMO than gay. He's not gona need shots and just like Allen both are more dedicated to defense, Marc/Zbo can take the bulk of the offense now. Ed Davis is gona be good for them, between him and Arthur they have a very athletic frontcourt backups.

Prince is technically the better, fit but he's not worth 7 million a year and he's going to get exposed in Memphis. He's not the player he used to be. He'd fit much better in a situation where almost nothing is asked of him and he doesn't have to play heavy minutes.

So much for our roster improvement and Gasol trade scenarios. :man9:

Memphis got better fam. Good move by the Griz. Team psyche might waiver at first but they should be solid in the playoffs.

I'm really not sure what to make of this trade, but Gay might have a breakout second half of the season in Toronto.

It will be interesting to see how that offense operates now that Conley is the lone perimeter player of that starting unit that can create for everyone now.

IMHO, Memphis saves money while staying competitive. Detroit gets out of Prince's long term contract with an expiring Calderon. Toronto isn't done...I doubt this is their endgame.

With the super tax hitting next year, smaller market teams will be scrambling to shed potential tax money.

^ I would think Toronto isn't done, plus they have a pretty nice team moving forward. Only thing is now they have to continue making the right moves for this team to progress in an already weak eastern conference. Also, now that Calderon has been moved I'm assuming they will be keeping Lowry?
