I like it. He's the SF/PF type that we could use.

The FO loves them some Gonzaga basketball.

only because they look a like...

Prince is a very good role player, Daye is barely generating interest.

Either way, I like it. We need a big SF/small PF type player. not that he's going to get big mins, but it's a good fit for our system.

Austin is a very good shooter from outside statistically and despite his rail thin frame, he's listed at 6'11".

If he's willing to play for the minimum, I'm interested. Not great and not particularly athletic, but young and a shooter.

Damn does he look like Tayshaun, and on the Pistons no less...

Another Zag. He was highly touted and never lived up to the hype. A very soft player who's nearly 7' yet rarely if ever will go in the paint on either end.

Mitch loves the Zags it seems. This would be 5 in the last 8 years.

I say do it but Daye is a SF period, too thin, too fragile and too soft to play as a PF, he has enough speed to play in the small-forward spot.

Would prefer the signing over us not signing another SF at all. I don't know if that says much. As long as we still get LO & don't have to depend on Daye at PF, I wouldn't mind giving him a look at SF. The idea of having 3 young prospects battling it out for the starting SF spot is appealing.

Austin Daye went to my high school. He was an absolute beast back then! But it hasn't translated to the pro level sadly. I think he hasn't really been given a legitimate chance to succeed, neither in Detroit or Memphis. He was never given consistent minutes in either places. Hopefully if we sign him, he'll have a good opportunity to get playing time.

Would love to have Daye on this team. Young, good shooter. Love how Mitch is getting local guys like Farmar, Young and now possibly Daye. Very smart. Now, add a shot blocking big and this team is becoming really interesting!

How is Daye a good shooter? I know sometimes numbers lie....but his numbers are not good at all. 6'11" and can't rebound. doesn't appear to be any good defensively. and couldn't seem to get many minutes on some pretty bad Detroit teams.

No thanks. someone from the summer league team would be a better bet. Daye is generating slight interest on name alone. we already have a "might still live up to his potential" in Wes Johnson. don't want another guy who hasn't showed us anything special 5 years into his career.

I don't like him. I know the Lakers have been high on him since the draft he was in, but I haven't been. Too skinny, hasn't improved at all season to season, average shooting numbers at best from 3 and overall, terrible rebounding numbers for 6'11. I guess we can't be picky, but I won't be excited if he signs here.

Every game I have watched him play when hes out on the court he always looks disinterested and just never really goes for it. I don't like his game very much at all and I sure as heck hope that if he does sign with us he doesn't take minutes away from Wesley Johnson or Nick Young at the SF position.

Sure, I think he'll mainly play at the 4 if he is on the court but that's a terrible matchup for us

Outside shooting per year:

Year 1: 30.5%
Year 2: 40.1%
Year 3: 21.0%
Year 4: 41.8%

His 3rd year in the league was awful in general, but he's a good shooter from outside. From the field? Not so much. But from outside he's a good shooter.
