It looks like Detroit landed Rasheed involving the Hawks and Boston in a three way trade. Here's a transcript at ESPN of how the trade was initially going down....but now that it has been finalized, here's a link to tell you the actual trade: Wallace going to Detroit

Nick: It's getting late. Rasheed to Detroit: on or off? I think Atlanta and Boston are sensing the urgency in the Pistons and trying to milk all they can from them, and that's the stall. Might Artest's injury be a factor for Dumars ultimately deciding to take the conservative route?

Chad Ford: (1:01 PM ET ) They're still talking. I just talked to sources in two of those cities and they're still trying to hammer a deal out. I'm not sure what the odds are, but it's encouraging that they're still talking. Here's a possibility that works based on a few tidbits that I've picked up. Again, just to be clear, nothing is done yet.

Pistons get: Rasheed Wallace

Celtics get: Chucky Atkins, Lindsey Hunter and a No. 1

Hawks get: Chris Mills, Zeljko Rebraca, Bob Sura, Mike James and a Pistons No. 1

That's the best I can do right now. If I hear anything concrete or definitive, I'll let you know. These deals are very tricky and there isn't much incentive for Atlanta or Boston to do it, but it sounds like the Pistons are trying hard to make it happen.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chad Ford: (1:39 PM ET ) OK big Sheed news coming in just one minute. Hold on, I think we may have a deal. I'll be back in one minute.

Chad Ford: (1:43 PM ET ) It looks like the Pistons have traded for Sheed. I'm awaiting word on details but a very good source has confirmed that they have a "done deal."

This just in.....this trade is pretty much a "done deal"...

Chad Ford: (2:00 PM ET ) Here's the details:

Boston gets: Chucky Atkins, Lindsey Hunter and the Pistons first round pick this year.

Detroit gets: Rasheed Wallace and Mike James

Atlanta gets: Chris Mills, Zeljko Rebraca, Bob Sura and the Bucks first round pick owed to Detroit.

Great dealin by Dumars.....he unloaded Atkins contract and got Rasheed....Detroit is automatically a favorite in the East because of no dominant PFs except Indiana's O'Neal and New Jersey's K-Mart

Yeah, it really was a good trade for everyone. But without a shadow of a doubt Detroit got the best deal. WOW!

The Pistons frontoffice guys..said they'll be glad to have him just for this year...even if he decides to go to the Knicks in the off-season they'll be fine with it...I guess they really see Darko being the future for the Pistons*

Can the Hawks get any worse, this is pathetic :bang: :bang:

They will lose the rest of the game this year, great move by the Pistons, they will be very good this year....Big Ben and Sheed, that's scary. The Celtics got a good deal out of this, they gave up practically nothing for Atkins (Davis, Pierce, and Atkins...not bad)

I am predicting it will be the Pistons and the Knicks in the Eastern Conference Finals

The Pistons must belive they can get Dampier or someone this off season, because they will be without a PF, again. Sheed will be in NY. I don't think they have enough hope in Dark, to put the future of their PF position in his hands

Thats great. I think Mo-Town is a great place for Rasheed and he'll help out a lot. Ben Wallace should start at center so Ben can slide over to his true position. A power Forward. Also, Detroit oimproves without losing to much and Atlanta's clearing up cap room.

Here are the other two probably starting line ups

Pistons:

    Big Ben/Campbell
    Sheed/Okur
    Prince/Williamson
    Hamilton/Ham
    Billups/James

This is a very good line up, they have a lot of talented big men and are a scary team in the East. They also have two PG's that are playing very well.
---------------------

Celtics:

    Blount/Stewart
    McCarty/ Mihm
    Welsch/Jones
    Pierce/Davis
    Atkins/Banks

They definitely improved. Atkins will give them a big boost. And they have a great backcourt with some decent depth. They are really pushing for the playoffs.

Well I think if they make it to the Finals and come close to winning it like it goes to 6 or 7 then he might stay but, if he leaves the pistons can go a sign and trade and probally get K.Thomas and Deke so they really don't need damiper...I acutally see the knicks try to get dampier or maybe the grizzles
