Sick tales from Portland via the Smack Gods (dimamag.com)

"We caught this story yesterday and thought we should relay it along as to one more reason why Bonzi Wells was exiled out of Portland. During Wells and Rasheed Wallace’s final shootaround together, Wallace slapped Wells on the back and said, "Watch this." Then he picked up a ball, reared back and fired a 100-foot, baseball-style strike that left Ruben Boumtje Boumtje who was unsuspectingly shooting free throws and had his back turned, writhing on the floor. Trainers were summoned. After a few scary minutes, Boumtje Boumtje walked off, but Wells and Wallace wouldn’t have known. They ran away giggling as soon as their teammate hit the deck."

As they were leaving the practice facility Wednesday, the morning of their final shootaround together, Wells and Wallace saw Ruben Boumtje Boumtje shooting jump shots some 100 feet away with his back turned to them.

Wallace slapped Wells on the back and said, "Watch this." Then he picked up a ball, reared back and fired a 100-foot, baseball-style strike that left Boumtje Boumtje writhing the floor. Trainers were summoned. After a few scary minutes, Boumtje Boumtje walked off, OK.

Wells and Wallace?

They giggled like schoolchildren and ran away the moment their teammate hit the canvas.

So, Grizzlies fans, this is what you're really getting in the deal.

That has to be the most immature story I've heard from basketball players.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

BEST VIDEO EVER ... AND AND THE SECOND BEST.

gosh...a lo of players have been a big disappointment to me this year. Wallace, Bonzi, RJ, and K-Mart in particular.

RJ and K-Mart had no right to make fun of Zo who was giving it all he could, and had a deeper love for the game than either of them can comprehend.

Wallace and Bonzi should each be suspended by their team or fined, that is childish. You don't hurl a ball at your own teammate. I mean it's one thing for those guys there to be stupid and destroy their own bodies by doing drugs and crap, but they don't have the right to try and hurt someone else. I think they still should try to make that trade with NJ for Wallace, he would fit in good with the other two low lifes. They could trade Kidd instead of K-Mart, because he deserves better, than to be associated with losers like that. And then Portland would be on the way to being a team with good guys on and off the court.
