The Philadelphia 76ers are unlikely to make a trade before the Feb. 21 deadline.

Sixers general manager Tony DiLeo believes the team’s roster, when healthy, can be a good one.

"Right now the mind-set is we want to see what the roster looks like with Andrew out there and healthy," DiLeo said. "We still have lots of questions to answer, but we want to see the team we envisioned having out there. We're curious how well this team will function together, the players with Andrew and Andrew with the players, heading into the summer."

DiLeo indicated the Sixers will still explore trade possibilities before the deadline.

I feel for them. Jrue Holiday is having an utterly fantastic season, but I wonder where they'd be at with Bynum playing.

^If he were as healthy this year as last he'd be a 20-12 guy for them at least IMHO. They actually have the pieces to support a dominant post player.

As is always the case with him however..... injuries are the deciding factor.

It's pretty crazy how long he's been out. He must have some serious damage.

I'm surprised he's not feeling more urgency in his return. He must be very confident that they'll offer him the max deal he expects.

^^Probably better to be playing at the end of the year and be hurt early rather than the other way around. It leaves a good impression going into FA.

As for the bone bruise.... It's not a soft tissue injury from what I can tell.... so it shouldn't be related to his other ligament issues. They depend on blood flow for healing and that is different with everyone. He should be able to recover fully (what ever that is for him) without long term issues. That is unless there is other damage that isn't public.

I'd have to assume there's other problems or concerns. Even a bone bruise doesn't take this long, not one I've ever heard of any way. They're serious and difficult to treat, yes, but it's been what 3-4 months now? That's too long.

I'd assume they're being extremely cautious and that there's something else happening here. But you're right maybe if he comes back finally healthy and balls up the Eastern Conference Centers late in the year he'll justify that contract.
