This Lakers management need to get their acts together. Trade Kobe for expiring contracts please. I want to see competitive Lakers games asap and not have to endure through three more years of garbage Lakers basketball.

I like Blake, he always gave it his all, tough, never say die attitude. His mainly detriment was his random injuries. Wish him the best.

Very much how I felt about him. Dude played with determination every possession and was a very underrated passer and dare I say defender. We just seemed to win more when he played well.

Also stood up for teammates during fights instead of laughing behind their backs or turning his head away.

Obviously not the most talented individual or best scorer on the court, but a true warrior in his own right. :jam2:

Blake was a competitor for us. He played hard. The one game I went to this season he was the only one that gave a damn.

Blake had some good years for us indeed.

But yikes, some people are so down on these young players. They haven't been given much of a chance to take on a serious role on a team. With a good draft pick this year and a good free agent signing and Kobe playing decently well, we can make a run. And these players very well end up being decent. I think they've each had some flashes. To put it simply, they are unproven players, not disproven players.

Thanks for the contributions Blake! :jam2: Some guys are welcome back anytime, and I would say he's one of them. I think we've just seen his best days behind him, and that durability will be an issue moving forward. Solid vet.

What really bothers me about this trade is not that we got robbed or anything, its the fact that jim seems to really be building around dantoni. Which means they will draft to fit the needs of his system. That will be a disaster. I REALLY hope he isn't the lakers coach next year.

I think if they were to build around Mike, that Hill would've been traded first. I mean, D'Antoni likes Blake, a lot. Why trade away a PG instead of the bigs that don't "fit your system"?

So do we get a small TPE out of this trade as well? Because the salaries don't match up.

From the looks of it I doubt any of the players involved will be with their new team come next year.

Gets us closer to being under the tax threshold... it's a good thing.

I always liked Blake's attitude and his toughness. He was up and down under Phil and Brown but looked like he had found a home in MDA's system. I hope he continues playing well and helps GS

i'd welcome blake back in the next few years as an assistant coach. he always seemed like a good dude to have on the bench, just always hurt. would have liked to get a 2nd round pick for him but we're super injured and just added a couple of healthy players, so that's not terrible. from what i remember marshon brooks is a decent scorer, maybe he can be our next scrub breakout player of the week

Don't like this trade at all...but the silver lining:

He was a D'Antoni guy.
Kevin Ding @KevinDing
D'Antoni had much more love for @Steve Blake, saying about trade: "More disappointed it was him."

Getting rid of a D'Antoni guy could mean that we're getting rid of.... :man13:

I think the FO and Kobe have a pow wow this summer and determine exactly how much D'Antoni hurts/helps the team moving forward and decide whether or not to keep him around.

D'Antoni is great for young guys trying to make it in the League. He's bad for superstars trying to win now. Are we trying to win right now? Depends on who we can get this summer.

Everything is incredibly fluid right now.
