Team by Team Offensive Efficiency Ratings

As most know, I'm not a big fan of the "combined stats" to indicate value in the sense of the intangibles it takes to lead a team in dynamic situations.

I think these stats show us a lot and then there a few places where they don't. Josh Smith's numbers in this calculation are fantastic.... Wallace's are not.... yet given a choice I'd take Wallace for a team that has aspirations on winning in the post season.

WTS... Thanks T for the effort. It is interesting to see how some players score in this system and then try and figure out why in some cases.....

I appreciate it, Roo. I agree there are limits here. I haven't added in individual defensive numbers yet (but I will). Even then there will be limitations. Still, I'd have agreed about Wallace over Smith, but Wallace is fading. Pretty fast I think.

I don't think I saw him play this year. He's always been a google switch player.... All on or hurt. Those injuries may be taking their toll.

It may be really interesting to do something with their salary.... If that could be factored in you may become the next Billy Beane.. :man10:

I like all of their PGs, but only as off the bench guys. And I suppose the numbers seem to support that in this case. :man10:

I think Knight might be an NBA caliber starting PG, but he was thrown into a situation he really wasn't ready for.

I don't claim that these stats are exhaustive. Individual defense is not really accounted for, nor is contribution to team success (I handle this with my SYNERGY stat).

Scoring Efficiency: 6+ is great; I think Kobe was at 6.9 this year. That's insane.
Passing Efficiency: 4+ is great
Hustle Efficiency: 4+ is great

I'll just quote this so people don't have to look back and forth between pages.

Thanks for the bump, too. When I get them all done, I'll post the qualified leaders by position. Some interesting stuff will appear, to be sure.

Klay Thompson's rating is rather surprising, I thought he'd be over 75

Yeah, I'll do all the teams.

Honestly, I did a double take when I saw Klay's rating. I checked it to be sure. Here's an explanation:
His shooting % isn't very impressive, and he doesn't get to the line much. That's why his scoring efficiency isn't better (it's not bad - 5.7 or so).

His ast/to ratio isn't good. Like 9:8, and it's a low assist rate. Plus, he fouled a good deal and was pretty non-existent on the offensive glass.

All that said, I love his game, and coupled with solid D I think he's a keeper. I also think that at 22 years old he'll get better.

Harden's efficiency is through the roof; the team is not too shabby either. Kind of surprising to me...

I noticed we actually had a pretty good "starter" category. Second only to the clippers. Too bad that they probably got a total of 1 game played the whole season.
