Is the travel dance just Chris Duhon's post-modernist re-interpretation of the safety dance?

I think he should be the back up when nash returns. He may not help a lot, but he definitely doesn't hurt us.
Every time I begin to ask, "Is he really as great as I think he is?" ...He proves that he is.
Every time I begin to wonder...He proves it...That is why I won't lose hope in him.
You know who I am talking about.

I really hope so. Blake just gives us nothing when he's not knocking down threes.

Duhon's doing a great job of playing low-error basketball on both ends of the floor. I'd like to see him get more aggressive with his playmaking, but if he gets some run with the backups, I think that will happen.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

Blake is the odd man out. Duhon has been holding his own. Defense is awesome, He and Morris are doing a good job. Road games that's the challenge.

His defense is consistent and he has shown that he can knock down the 3 and run the offense. Blake shouldn't be getting any minutes when Nash is healthy.

I like what Duhon brings to the table. He's not the best backup PG, but so far he's looked like the best one we have.

2/6 for 5 points. But a stagger 8 assists with only 1 turnover!

great game. had some very good buckets. not % wise...but 8 assists and 1 turnover is awesome for our backup PG or 3rd string PG whatever he is for us. that deep 3 was gnarly

^^ I completely agree with this. And he's looked like the best backup PG since the preseason.

He's the definition of solid right now. He doesn't get ahead of himself and is not afraid to try and make a play.

It's about time to stick a stake in Blake and move on with Duhon. :man1:

8 assists off the bench. Nice

Great, measured game tonight. Glad MD is having Duhon close the games instead of Morris

steve blake should be rotting on the bench, no way should he be put ahead of duhon after duhons performance.

blake hasnt done what duhon has done in all his years here. steve blake is trash, and i never wanted him to begin with.

I like what Duhon does: he has good court vision, knows how to find his teammates, and would be a perfect backup to Nash. He is quick and can still play some defense as well. Good role-player.

While I do like the play of Duhon, just remember a couple of things.

- Blake has only played in slow-it-down offenses not well-suited for a point guard. Duhon did nothing in Brown's system.
- Duhon is playing in D'Antoni's new system which always gets major production from point guard no matter who seems to be playing in it.
- D'Antoni loves Steve Blake, and supposedly has said he's been trying to acquire him for the better part of a decade.

I guess the point is, you can't really write off Blake for Duhon at this point until we see Blake play in MDA's system. Blake is the better player overall, and the better shooter as well. I for one, fully expect Blake to have a bit of a rejuvenation in the MDA offense.

Anybody else find it odd that he always licks his fingers while he's dribbling the ball?

I am starting to like Duhon... alot. He stays within the system. Doesn't do anything too fancy. He shoots when he has to, and seems to keep his composure the entire game. IDk, when Blake and Nash come back, there is a gonna be a dog fight for the backup PG role. Cause Duhon is doing a helluva job.

Duhon replacing Morris as starter?

With Steve Nash still sidelined indefinitely and Steve Blake now out 6-to-8 weeks (abdominal muscle surgery), it's up to Chris Duhon and Darius Morris to carry the load at point guard.

Morris has started the last 10 games, but Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com writes this afternoon that Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni said he's considering swapping Morris for the veteran Duhon.

"Offensively I did think that Duhon ran the team pretty well," D'Antoni said of Duhon's performance in the Lakers' 113-103 loss to the Orlando Magic on Sunday. "I thought that he had a nice flow to it in certain parts of the game."

Morris, a second-year pro out of Michigan, is averaging just 2.5 assists in 22.3 minutes per game this season.

- Joe Kaiser

Time to cut Morris and bring in Delonte or Big Earl Boykins.

^ I agree Doc, but with Morris proving he's improved I don't think the Lakers will cut him.

I don't know about that ... I like the way Duhon runs the show with the 2nd unit but when it's out there with the 1st unit he's basically a spot up shooter as Kobe always has the ball in his hands ... plus Morris running the 2nd unit would be a disaster as we've already seen .

Result : the 1st unit doesn't get better that much ( besides Duhon knocking down one or two 3s instead of Morris bricking them as of late)

the 2nd unit is a disaster : clock issues , TOs ,no ball movement ect

My idea : start Meeks ( he defends the opposite PG and plays SG on O) and rotate 3 guys on the guards spots

Kobe : 36 min
Duhon and Meeks : 30 min

Morris running with the bench = disaster

Two new starters for the Lakers tonight vs Houston: Jamison for Pau at the four (out with tendinitis) and Duhon for Morris at the point
