It would be interesting if it was implemented correctly. They'd have to have the line at a point where players shoot 25% on average on it to even out the points per shot. What I mean is statistically shooting 50% from the 2, 33% from the 3, and 25% from the 4 is the same thing.
They also have to widen the court (which I think they should do now anyways). The 3 point line is already an odd shape because the court is so narrow. You have players constantly stepping out of bounds trying to stay behind the 3 point line on the sides.
There are positives and negatives. I'd give it a go and experiment in the D-league first.
