The West is gonna get INTERESTING...

Well folks...tha west is gonna get VERY VERY interesting in tha next 2 weeks before tha all star break...

with sacramento currently on a BIG road trip, which they fell to 1-2 on(losses to memphis and dallas, and BARELY won against a lebron-less cavs)...sacramento is now 30-12, with minny on tha tails of tha kings at 29-12, havin won an amazing 16 outta their last 20 games since startin 9-8...san antonio went on a 13 game winning streak to get back into tha picture after bein 9-10, and are now 29-16, tha mavs have heated up and have won 8 straight and are now 28-16 after all tha rumors of trades and their coach being fired...and finally tha lakers who have been tidal waved by injuries, once 18-3, are now 26-15 but could be lookin up after gettin kobe back, and shaq and malone comin soon...

so tha first 5 spots are pretty secure i would say, but what about tha last 3 spots in tha west? tha last couple of years those last 3 spots have been shared by portland, seattle, utah, and phoenix, but now those last 3 spots are bein shared between houston, denver, and memphis...

How tight will tha western conference race be this year? it will all depend on how tha lakers and kings do, bcuz both teams have their stars out and we wont know how good either team will be til both teams reach their full potential...but with sacramento riding a 6 game road trip right now, and they have fallen to 0-1 in tha texas triangle, and it doesnt get much easier with a back to back in houston and san antonio, and then finish off tha road trip in seattle...tha kings could be 30-15 by tha time this road trip is through with...

The #1 spot in tha west is definetly up for grabs between tha big 5, tha lakers, spurs, kings, mavs and twolves...but i think tha x-factor in this group is tha TWOLVES...they are playin tha best basketball as of right now and if they win tonight against tha suns they will be #1 in tha west...

hopefully tha kings twolves and spurs start losing alot of games and tha lakers can surprise everyone and win every game on this 7 game road trip

Yeah the West is very interesting this year. And like last year, there are definetly no weak sisters in the West.

Totally agreed, the West is pretty much filled to the brim with class-acts of rivalries and totally defining the meaning of "exciting basketball", two teams like Dallas and Sactown squaring it up w/out playing any D, thats sorta fun but for gaddsake they've got to play D and thats what makes a good team..and thats why Sactown is losing because with teams like Dallas, who've got the great offense in the league now, its tough to win..and they got caught by surprise and got served...San Antonio also took it easy yesterday when they thought an easy V against the Hornets, and guess what..little Darrell Armstrong pops out of nowhere and scores 35 points and hits the game-winning shot! Its really all correlating with boredom, even we the Lakerss get bored sometimes, I tell you, its only human and thats why GMs like players that are trashtalking and motivated to play the game for the love of it. So yes, it'd be very tough

Good analysis, Fab and ryd. Ideally, the Lakers should win all their games at home and at least half of them on the road, but because the West is so good, that might not even be enough. We're in for a fight, but the Lakers can still be #1 if they play like they did (or even better) before the injuries started to pile up. Remember when we were blowing out teams like San Antonio and Dallas? Like ryd said, motivation and trashtalking are good, which is why players like Gary, Karl, and Fox are important. I'd rather have our team be in a competitive conference, because it elevates their play and makes their wins that much sweeter. The East sux! :man10: BTW, Dallas beat Sac today. :jam2:
