I understand if you are just a general basketball fan (not rooting for a specific team), but you said you something about suddenly rooting for the Kings when you don't even care about hockey... :man10:

I think a lot of LA residents rooted for the Kings during their improbable run who weren't even hockey fans. It just caught the city by surprise. I didn't watch any of their games but just wished them the best and hoped that they won it all. It's not like I bought King's jerseys and shouted, "Go Kings." As a LA resident, it was just nice to see them doing well. Nothing more.

Wow, that's the very definition of a bandwagon fan, supporting whoever is winning. I don't wanna outright call that lame, but I don't know how else to put it. That's like some of my little cousins and kids I see out in public places that just go for who is currently popular and all of a sudden were fans of Boston in '08, and Miami in 2011, and suddenly you see this jerseys everywhere on people. Or like all the kids wearing Bulls jerseys when I was in school in the 90's, bandwagoners.

I've been a Laker fan my whole life. I'll never stop being a Laker fan. I'll bleed purple and gold until the day I die and most people on a LAKERS message board feel the same way.

Those that don't rarely advertise that they don't; using their "fandom" of other teams as a leaping point in conversations. And if you ARE a fan of another team, then support them without pretense. If you're a fan of just a player on the team, support that player without having to pretend you're anything else. The word here is "tact".

As an LA resident for most of my life, I've followed the franchises of the Kings, the Dodgers, the Angels, the Rams, the Raiders, the Clippers, and even the Galaxy for a short bit. I'd say I'm a Dodger and Laker fan. I'm not a fan of the other franchises. If they do well that's fine. It's good for the city I suppose, but I'd never presume to step behind them and cheer for them the same way I'd cheer for the Lakers or the Dodgers. No way.

One of my students (a Heat fan) asked if I liked the Clippers. He knows I like the Lakers. I said, "You can't do that." He was surprised to hear that POV expressed. Commonsense to me.

I'm a fan of teams: Notre Dame, Phillies, Raiders, and Lakers.
I'm also a fan of players: I'll use Kobe and Marcus Allen as examples.

I've liked Kobe since day 1. He graduated a year ahead of me in school - not at the same school, but about 70 minutes away. And he was on my team, so that was even better.

I liked Marcus Allen since I knew anything about football. And when the Raiders did him wrong, I purposely stopped watching and followed the Chiefs specifically because my allegiance to him was stronger than my allegiance to the Raiders. I didn't become a Chiefs fan, but I sure watched their games.

I believe I'm a Lakers fan, and I have found Lakers to watch for a long time (Magic, Threatt, Shaq, Kobe). I'll probably find them again after Kobe leaves (was hoping it would be Bynum), but I might not. I do know that if I'm not watching the Lakers, I won't be calling myself a fan of any team. Because there's no team I care about outside the Lakers and no player I care enough to root for their TEAM.

A Heat fan surprised to hear you can't just be a bandwagon fan in other places, shocking. :man10: It probably comes as naturally as breathing to them.

Pre game and in the first half...

we got this

Still have the Rockets in 5.

Rockets win by 20.

DMo and Daniels come off the bench with the spark.

Rockets 120 Blazers 99

rockets will blow them out

Blazers think they can disrespect us in our house? Not today! Sure-fire win!
Image

Rockets will win this. Refs got our backs.

Lin will have a "flu game" that will rival Jordan's in history!

Forget Beverley, Harden will guard Lillard himself and shut him down.

Blowout tonight
Seems like first game the Rockets thought they can beat the Blazers in straight up bball, no tactics, ISO one on one, no gameplan, n they almost succeeded. Tonight is a different ball game.

I also think Harden is going to stay on Matthews. I just don't see how you can't take the abuse he took in game 1 personally. I think Harden will be fired up.

Dwight giving me chills

Houston fan talking...
flop on lillard smh

Dwight's a man on a mission

and then (Harden and McHale seem to be very "POPULAR" among Rockets fans)...

Garbage refs

I rather watch my neighbors' games.
Lets move the ball and make it interesting [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.].

I don't like how we started at all. We have to go back to Rockets basketball fk all this inside out crap!

Stop the ISO. Move the freaking ball. Basketball is a team sport, get everyone involve.

No more b-ball for you bud...
I tell you this. If we lose this game I won't watch another game this series.

Wow, I guess the idea of double teaming a player on fire doesn't exist.

That's Rockets basketball! Fk that inside out crap!

Bearded one didn't listen...
Harden...your jump shot is off..please drive to the basket

Just imagined if we did the deal with Portland for LMA.

We still got this game, if Mchale realized we don't need Harden around at the fourth.

Harden is a sizzling 12-44 so far this series...it's a good thing he's the primary playmaker.

Harden destroying timing off of other players, take this guy out if we want to win the series.
We might need him when facing pu*k [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.] teams like Pelicans.

Take Harden OUT!!!@!!!!!!!#$JFio;xdrtuieq0 [pogujqol

NBA is screwing us by putting us on TNT

Harden....please....stop....shooting

plzzzz, Harden must be out in order for us to win tonight.
might be 2night, might be other night but not tonight. McHale.

Even Robin Lopez is torching us...

This Lin-Beverly-Harden combination is trash.... Please put anyone else in...

A mod with some sense...
I can only laugh. This is pure #ChokeCity at its finest. I didn't think it could get worse than '07. I hope the Blazers sweep us. This is pathetic...

Wow... just wow...... That is the epitome of pathetic...

Game over..series over

Just when I thought Harden couldn't do worse than his 8-28 performance..he goes 6-19.

BREAKING:

Harden chokes on his beard while trying to eat his post game meal.

Harden is the reason we're down 0-2. Free Troy Daniels!

They should hire Hollins.
Hands down

LOL...
Wasn't Harden supposed to switch his defensive gear on in the playoffs? I'm still seeing some really really lazy defense on his part. Isn't he aware that the whole basketball world is watching him now? This isn't some mid February game against the Jazz.....it's the freaking playoffs.

We need to give d leaguers some burn

McDumbHell, all season he doesn't play inside out, doesn't play TT with Lin, doesn't play Harden off the ball and suddenly, he's like, "Oh shoot, better get my act together!" SMH......

Maybe it really is one of those cases where a guy's statistical output is masked by a condition that doesn't exist in the playoffs.
Namely, the beardflop foul that drives so much of Harden's game.

If so, please do trade.

Time for Harden to shave the beard in penitence. He can grow it back when he starts playing like a man.

The Rockets are determined to make a fool out of Jeff Van Gundy.

Miss Jeff V so much

Hey, at least in the face of adversity, we saw sound leadership from the likes of ... uh, nobody.

Pathetic. Lets at least win 1 game for a moral victory.

Gut the whole team

The water is wet, the grass is green...
Harden didn't even try on defense most of the time...

Championship contender my [Swearing is not permitted at Clublakers. You must edit this post prior to submitting.]

I'm done with this joke of a team

Well..... It was a fun year I couldn't witness..... Thanks csn and rockets.

Is it football time yet?

Image

... and some love for Joel Meyers

I literally can't stand Joel Meyers.

Joel Meyers is the worst announcer of all-time. He called Owen Daniels Owen Daniel like 20 times in a preseason Texans game a couple years ago. Terrible announcer.

Seriously? Joel ****ing Meyers again? Ughhhhh

The only thing greater than watching this team fail in the playoffs would be watching both them and the Clippers fail. I can't wait for both of them to lose in the first round.

In light of the Clips' sad situation to be in with a loss tonight, on top of this huge controversy dumped on them from their disgusting owner, it would kind of be like "piling on" unnecessarily to ask for Doom tonight. Have some compassion and respect right? Like their fans have given us all year. Oh wait….SNAP!! Pleeeaasse let there be Clipper Doom soon. :hungry: :hungry: :man10:
