As a Clip fan (I'm a Laker fan too), I was hoping to avoid facing GS like the plaques because they always played us well. But now, we are down 0-1. Good thing about the NBA is you get 7 games to decide the winner. So the better team will win 95% of the time. If they beat us, the better team won and I can deal with it.

I will add the refs were terrible in game 1. They called way too many ticky tack fouls both ways. You need to let the players play.

Right when the game ended the first thing I thought of was:

Somewhere Vinny Del Negro was cracking open a beer.

I don't understand why people laugh when I say I'm a fan of both teams. I have been living in LA since 1982. Of course, the Lakers were always my team and I loved Magic and the Showtime Lakers. The Clips were always an after thought. But that doesn't mean I didn't wish good things for them also because you just felt so bad for them. I hope every team in LA success. For instance, i could care less about hockey but when the Kings took the world by storm and won it all, i rooted for the Kings. And now that the worst franchise in sports history have turned it around, of course I root for them. Now if there comes to a situation where both are legit title contenders and they meet in the playoffs, I would be torn. I think I would root for the team that has the better chance of winning because in the end, that's what I want. If both of their chances are equal, I would just watch and take the may the best team win approach.

To be a fan of more than one team playing the same sport at the same level is very weird to me ...

Like I said, it's abour geography. I have been an LA resident since 1982. So I wish every LA based sports team success. I was always a die hard Laker fan. I grew up on Magic and Chick. But that doesn't mean I didn't wish good things for the Clips. The Clips are like the little brother that always failed and now that they are having success, I am naturally happy for them. My love and loyalty for the Lakers is embedded in me. There is nothing that can change that. I don't need to prove whether I am a real Laker fan to anyone because what matters is I know I am and that's all that matters. LA is Laker country, regardless of sport, and probably always will be, unless if the Clips start winning some rings. There are so many people like me who grew up in the 80's watching the Showtime Lakers and there is a bond that will stay with us for life. To the core, I bleed purple and gold and always will.

To each their own but that sounds very bandwagonish. Especially youre part about liking the Kings when they won the cup.

I can somewhat understand supporting LA teams. If the Clippers didn't have the roster they do, I might actually tolerate them winning. However, they are a band of douche bags and floppers. I cant stand to see them win, so I will be happy when they get knocked out again.

Its kind of like how I feel about Portland this year. Typically I could care less for them and want them to lose. But I happen to like Lillard and Aldridge, so when they win it doesnt bother me.

Wow….. just walked right into it…. face first.

Once the Clippers exiting (briefly) the realm of laughable NBA franchises I was curious to see just how quick they could screw it up. They've stumbled into a nice situation here but will again falter IMO.

It's my belief that you can only be a "fan" of one team…… One can be fans of players on different teams over the franchises themselves but that is the very essence of "bandwagon" fans and/or Fantasy fans isn't it?

Ya'll shouldn't be hating. I became a fan of every team in the NBA cause at least twice a season they play at Staples which means all teams play at Staples and all teams are LA teams. My team wins the Championship every year :jam2: :jam2: :jam2:
