Thomas Fired

Thomas Fired

I like Isiah. But I guess things change and new direction is needed.

How do I know Jesus loves me so much he doesn't want me working the whole weekend?
Exodus 31:15 Six days shall work be done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall be put to death.
Don't believe those lies, son! The only lies worth believing are the ones in the Bible! Can I get an amen?

This was bound to happen. Bird and Thomas never were allies...EVER. And even during the press conferences, you can sense the tension between those two. Really no surprise here....actually I'm a little surprised that it didn't happen earlier.

On the other hand, Carlisle and Bird are great friends and trust me Carlilse will be coach of the Pacers next.....100% guaranteed.

I knew this would not last, it would be just like if it was Jordan and Thomas. Players who are rivals and hate each other when they used to play, will not be friends now. :man7:

u know whats funny

is when i saw this news on ESPN, i was thinkin "what the hell?" and then i thought about it and said "oh they must be hiring rick carlisle" and this was WITHOUT even checkin tha web! and when i checked it, there it was! They will reportedly hire carlisle! I really like this firing/hiring of coaches! great swap...carlisle will make this team a powerhouse in tha east...i think indiana has all tha pieces to do it, and now with larry and rick runnin tha show...im sure they'll be in tha top 3!

too bad for isiah...i hope he finds another coachin job somewhere

does toronto have a permanent coach yet? if not then they could hire thomas. I know they fired wilkens, but didn't know if an assistant coach was stepping up or if they got someone else

I bet a team will fire their coach and hire thomas before the season starts. I wonder, what teams are looking for a coach.

He should come to atl and we can get rid of the excuse for a coach thats in there now, slotts...is his name, I think

Legendary Icons: Larry BIRD fires Isiah THOMAS
Pacers send Thomas packing
Isiah Thomas was fired Wednesday as head coach of the Indiana Pacers, a surprise move that came only seven weeks after Larry Bird was named president of basketball operations. Bird said his first choice to replace Thomas was Rick Carlisle, but added that no deal had been reached.

I really think after 3 years of struggle,Isiah Thomas was a key
suspect of getting axed. This co$t the Pacer$ muy deniro...They'll never face the Lakers in a Finals Game again.Maybe in three years?

they wont fire terry stotts or whoever that is...cuz they jus hired him! haha it'd be funny if he WAS fired tho! Maybe Boston will fire O'brien and hire thomas? similar to what detroit did, fire their coach, and hire the coach that they beat! haha i jus dont see tha logic behind that

Thomas will probably sit out this year and become an announcer, but he will probably get back into coaching next year...

I don't know who I would have signed with, but I would not have signed back there. Bottom line.

Jermaine O'Neal
on the firing of Isiah Thomas

Damm he is pissed!!! I hope he demands for a trade!!

I would be pissed also, if I signed a long contract, and believed that I would have someone coach me and then they fire him and are going to hire a guy that I don't know and aren't familiar with how he coaches. If he did demand a trade where could he possibly go?

wow the mavs would be very good if they could get him, that would give them a center that they've needed and some d. I think if they could pull this one of I would have to move them up to the second best team in the west, under us of course.

Don't forget Jsm, that if Dallas supposedly does get O'Neal in a trade, they would have to trade one or possibly two of their Big 4....oh wait its Big 3 now (Jamison hasn't proven his bigness yet)

yea i read the J Oneal article on how he was disheartened and angered by the news...i dont blame him! what the hell did the pacers fire thomas for? They act like the pacers had a chance at the title this year! Im sorry they dont have enuff talent YET to make it that far! They improved VASTLY over last year, when they went 8th in the east, i mean if u can go from 8th in tha east to 3rd in the east, thast a big improvement! but wait its the east so nevermind! 1-8 are equal out there!

I believe carlisle is a GREAT coach but i dunno if the pacers wanna change their style of play! and if jermaine demands a trade, this could be HUGE! Maybe new york can get him! trade allan houston, mcdyess and thomas for J Oneal and another player!

Actually dallas could get him! Trade Nash Jamison or Finley and another player for J Oneal! The only way dallas could get him is if they give up Nash or Finley or Jamison, or hey possibly Dirk?
