The Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns discussed a trade over the All-Star break centered on Marcin Gortat for Kendrick Perkins.

The Thunder would receive Gortat and P.J. Tucker from the Suns for Perkins, Jeremy Lamb and a first round pick.

Perkins is signed through the 14-15 season while Gortat becomes a free agent in 2014.

Phoenix is enamored with Lamb I'm hearing down here on the local sports shows...... so much so that they would take on the dead weight of Perkins to get him.

Once again, a terrible deal for a terrible franchise....PERKINS?!?! Wow......and on top of that, the Thunder get another legit defender in Tucker...and a legit back to the basket big in Gortat. I truly hope this doesn't happen...what a terrible deal for the Suns...esp since they already have a crowded backcourt with Wes Johnson, Shannon Brown and Jared Dudley....now thats what I hope doesn't happen...if the Thunder get a guy like Jared Dudley...

Perkins is deadweight. The two moves that OKC are going to regret are moving Green & Harden. Green could defend Lebron as good as anybody & is a threat on the offensive end. Perkins is a liability when they are playing Miami. Harden provided balance to Westbrook & Durant. Without him last year, they don't beat the Spurs.

Anyways, Gortat is very skilled big man. He will get a ton of scoring opportunities playing off Westbrook & Durant. I like this move a lot for OKC.

Perkins has absolutely no role on the court when playing Miami. Now that they (most likely) won't be facing us in the WCF, they can get rid of Perkins.
