Huge Trade other thean the Golden State and Hornets.
This trade is Huge:
NY gets: Theo Ratliff, Dickau
Atlanta gets: Charlie Ward, McDeyess(going to Boston along w/ Houston for Walker), Doleac, A. Walker (from Celtics)
Boston gets: Allan Houston(went to Atlanta then to Boston), and McDeyess
So all together
Knicks get: Theo, Dan (on a scale of 1-10 I give them a 6)
Atlanta gets: Ward, Doleac, Walker(7)
Boston gets: Houston(he will play SF), McDeyess(8)
I think Boston got the best deal, and I can not believe NY gave up Sprewell now Houston are they nuts!
the knicks are log-jammed at the 4 spot...they need to make trades involving personel at that spot (Clarence Weatherspoon, Othella Harrington, Antonio McDyess and the rookie Sweetney...plus Van Horn, if the that trade goes down)....what are the Knicks thinking.....they also have Kurt Thomas who plays the 5, but his natural position is also the 4....The Lakers should start dealing with the Knicks...McDyess or Kurt Thomas would be an excellent pick up for us...but if Fish was included in that trade, then we definitely have to shop our vet. min for a guard.
if their contracts match up then...yea definitely pull the trigger
Kurt Thomas has a salary of 5.4M for next season and then has a team option of 5.9 for the 2004-2005 season
So in order for a trade to work, we would need to trade Fox (4.5M next season) and Slava (1.5M next season)...
Since Thomas has a team option for 2004-2005, that makes his contract valuable to the Knicks, but Slava's contract is only guaranteed for this coming year so they can free up their pay roll by waiving him or sigining him for less (highly unlikely)...Fox on the other hand is guaranteed 4.9 for the 2004-2005 season, so he would be under the Knicks payroll and with a possible trade of Sprewell, Fox can play the 3 left vacant by Spree's departure.
Still this trade won't happen, but it was cool to think about
