This is the matchup I've been waiting for all playoffs - the rematch of the 2011 upset of the year. Even with Westbrook healthy, there was a chance OKC wouldn't get past Memphis. But now that the actual game is here, it'll be very interesting to see how two teams who play similar basketball with similar players matchup in a 7 game series. Both teams have good big men. Both have deep benches. Both have dynamic point guards. Both have swing players who defend the perimeter well and can hit threes on the offensive end. All of that boils downs to two things for me...

Coach vs. Coach - who can make the right in-game adjustments at the proper times. The edge is obviously Pop.

Health/Stamina - is San Antonio going to finally show their age and/or legs in what promises to be a 7 game series? The edge clearly goes to Memphis here. A team who likes to bang, plays stifling defense, and has youth at almost every position stands to go a few more rounds than the core of Tim and Manu, the two guys susceptible to tire out in the WCF.

I might be in the minority here...but Memphis in 7.

Yeah Memphis in 6 sounds about right.

Then Miami in 3 in the Finals. Bleh.

I want Memphis to win.
Not gonna be an easy task, but if they can get good bench production (Bayless, Pondexter, Arthur) and solid play from the bigs, I think they can take it. MEM in 7

This should be a great series. If Memphis keeps their poise with Zack, Marc and Mike continueing to play well they can win this series in 6
For what it's worth, the Lakers also clinched the Pacific Division, an achievement Bryant dismissed by saying "We don't hang divisions." No, only the big NBA championship banners are considered wall-worthy for the Lakers.

I hope Memphis wins. Not so much because I hate the Spurs as much as I believe that Memphis has the better shot at beating Miami than the Spurs do. Randolph and Gasol are in their primes and ready to punish Miami's puny frontline. Duncan is old and Splitter doesn't impress me at all.

Memphis and SA have similar games. Game one will be important. SA seems to be in rhythm now and They still have yet to get all of their big 3 going in the same game.

I like Memphis but this is about the one place where coaches can be a difference maker and that is decidedly in SA's favor.

I hope Grizz but I have no idea which team is going to win this series ...

Advantages for SAS :

-Memphis can't shoot and SAS is going to double the post a lot

- Depth

- Splitter length bothered Z-Bo in the regular season ...

Advantages for Memphis :

- the paint obviously

- Tony Allen can lock both Parker and Ginobili ( who is already shooting the ball like crap in these playoffs)

- Stamina ... SAS is struggling in 2nd halfs ( especially Duncan) , the energy and physicality of Memphis D are going to do some damage down the stretch

Me, too. Go Memphis!

This should be a heavy weight match up, though.

Sounds like I'm in the minority here, but that's ok. Spurs in 6. Memphis is talented, for sure, but the Spurs have the edge in playoff experience. Tim Duncan, the greatest power forward of all time, is seeing his time near the end and craves another ring.

The only Spurs players who really have the "experience" advantage are Parker, Gino, and Duncan.

The only vet on the Spurs (5th year or higher) that the Spurs use on a regular basis is Matt Bonner. Diaw and T-Mac are there, but they're mostly on the bench reserve. Especially T-Mac.

Meanwhile, the Grizz have Allen, Connelly, Gasol, Randolph, Prince, Bayless, Dooling and Arthur. All of whom are either in their 5th year as a pro or higher. 2 of whom have championship experience (Prince & Allen).

Don't forget the coaches, Coach Pop's experience counts for a lot as well.

The difference with the Spurs' experience is that it's held by the three most important players, plus the coach. Plus, they have a system of equality and teamwork that allows guys like Kawhi Leonard, Gary Neal, Patty Mills and Danny Green to be hot one night and cool off the next, without over-reliance on the big 3. Tim Duncan didn't even play the final two minutes in the closeout game against GS!

I do think it will be a tough, defensive-minded series, which may or may not appeal to the masses but one I'm looking forward to. Of all the teams, Memphis is the most similar in style and can match up well. But I still think the Spurs come out on top.

The spurs will rely on their poise for sure but Memphis seems to have poise as well. The true test will be if Duncan can stay out of trouble gaurding Randolph or Marc. Memphis will look to pound Timmy I think. This could be very bad for a spurs team that got winded last years playoffs.

I want the Grizzlies to win, but we saw how well San Antonio clicks when they make adjustments towards the other teams. Who the heck can contain Tony Parker.

I do want the the Grizzlies to win, but at the same time I want the best team to win, whoever has the better shot at beating the Heat. The Heat have faced total crap teams so far, I want them to run into a well oiled machine in the Finals.
