What is the difference between dunks and slamdunks???

Postby ShaqAttaq on Thu Jan 22, 2004 6:34 am

I have read this on NBA.com:
Shaquille O'Neal led the league with 251 total dunks and 147 slam dunks. Since 1987, O'Neal is the NBA's dunk king. He's stuffed 2,698 shots in his career.
Shaquille O'Neal: "Me shooting 40 percent at the foul line is just God's way of
saying nobody's perfect."

Heck man, I have no idea. Good question. Maybe a dunk is what Shaq does when he's down in the paint and a slam dunk is what Kobe does on a fastbreak, I don't know.

Maybe a slam dunk is an agressive more dunk compared to a 2 handled touch dunk... I have no idea what the difference is :man10:

Link: http://www.nba.com/features/pollack_040114.html

Excerpt: Pollack separates dunks into seven categories: slam dunks; regular dunks; driving dunks, alley-oop dunks, follow-up dunks; running dunks and reverse dunks.

I know, I'm still confused, too. :man10:
