Whose team is it anyway?

Whose team is it anyway?

Garnett & the Timberwolves: He’s KG, a perennial MVP candidate.

Shaq & the Lakers: It’s Shaq’s team, sorry Kobe, with Shaq they win without Shaq they don’t.

Duncan & the Spurs: Only because he’s an MVP and without him where would they be.

Kidd & the Nets: Sometimes yes, sometimes I am not sure.

Davis & the Hornets: Debatable

Vince & the Raptors: He leads in all-star voting and he pretty much is the Raptors.

Pierce & the Celtics: By default, Paul’s a great player but who else is even there.

Iverson & the Sixers: Not as much this year as in past years.

Lebron & the Cavs: This is a role he will have to grow in to.

McGrady & the Magic: It seems lately that he is trying to lose that job.

Teams without a defined leader, notice only Indiana and Detroit are real contenders right now:

Dallas: Nowitzki, Nash – who knows maybe that’s one of their problems.

Houston: Does this team belong to Francis or Yao, they’d like to give it to Yao but he’s reluctant.

Denver: They’re all too young but maybe someday it will be Carmelo’s.

Utah: I have no idea.

Seattle: It should be Ray Allen’s but he hasn’t it earned it there yet.

Memphis: There’s no one player that jumps out at me.

Clippers: It should be Brand’s it could be Maggette’s but as of yet neither has claimed it.

Portland: No one seems to want it. Zach Randolph?

Golden State: If Arenas had stayed it would have been his team but now there is really no one.

Phoenix: Marion’s been there since 1999 maybe now, with Marbury gone, he’ll claim the role.

As a west coaster the eastern teams are more difficult for me to identify but here are my thoughts:

Indiana: I don’t think of them as O’Neal’s Pacers yet, but maybe soon.

Detroit: Last year they were Wallace’s team; this year Billups is making an argument for himself.

Milwaukee: Michael Redd is working hard to make this his team.

New York: Maybe Allan Houston, maybe Marbury will step up.

Miami: After watching them play Sacramento I’d give it to Lamar Odom.

Chicago: MJ’s ghost still leads that team.

Atlanta: Hello, does anyone even want to admit they play for this team.

Washington: It should be Stackhouse’s team but that isn’t working out, we’ll see if Arenas can take it but first they have to actually play.

here's my picks, a lot of them I agree with jorker:

T-wolves: I agree, KG

Lakers: Shaq for now, but by next season, it will be Kobe's

Spurs: Duncan, the only reason he is any good is because the refs give him whatever he wants

Nets: Kidd

Hornets: Davis

Raptors: it's VC's, but it should be Marshall's...he is the only vet. doing anything up there

Celtics: Pierce

Sixers: AI's, but he better watch his back because the Big Dog ain't far behind

Cavs: Lebron

Magic: Gooden (T-Mac hates responsibility)

Dallas: Nash, he runs the show, without him...they are a different, slower team

Houston: depends who you ask. You ask Van Gundy, and he says Yao. You ask Francis, and he says Francis

Denver: Melo, not unless you consider it Boykins' team

Utah: Raja Bell

Seattle: Ray Allen

Memphis: Gasol, you ask any person in Memphis and they will tell you it's Gasol's

Clippers: Maggette

Portland: Sheed, until he leaves...then it will be Zach's

Golden State: J-Rich

Phoenix: Amare, the Man Child is this team

Indiana: even though he's almost retired...I got to say Miller, maybe when he retires O' Neal can make a claim

Detroit: Big Ben, the defensive player of the year still does what he does

Milwaukee: Michael Redd

New York: Marbury, he is doing spectacular things with the Knicks

Miami: Odom or Wade

Chicago: Kirk Hinrich, he is the only stable thing in the Windy City

Atlanta: Shareef, until he leaves...then I guess JT, till he leaves, then Theo till he leaves, then...I guess you get the pattern

Washington: Larry Hughes, he is taking charge of this team

Kings: Peja, just look at his performances this year

I agree with all of them except...

Kobe & the Lakers: Ever since last season, KOBE proved he could lead this team as Shaq kept getting injured with his fat body.

Carmelo & Denver: It's already Carmelo's team-- the kid is amazing.

Utah: AK47 (Andrei Kirilenko).

Phoenix: I disagree-- if he can stay healthy, Amare Stoudemire will become the leader of that team in a year or two.

Slava laughed at the suggestion his skills might be affected by the down time. "Are you kidding?" he said. "Basketball is like ball. It's all a circle."

webber

Postby ShackO on Wed Jan 21, 2004 9:19 pm

Don't waste your scorn with me and webber...... I am hardly a fan of cwebb........... I like the Kings

That role was always thrust upon him

he never wanted it.......

Miller?
Peja?
Vladie?

Not a matter of concern...........

They all want to give webber his props, so be it.........

Unlike many of the teams mentioned our team is no longer relient on one man............

Actually yea he did. Last season in the first half of the season, bibby was out, stojakovic was out, stojakovic's backup turkoglu was out, when bibby came back, jackson was out and we still got the same record. In the past 3 seasons, we been able to hold a good record no matter who was out
