Wizards or Lady Gaga: Verizon Center has potential Game 6 conflict

The Washington Wizards can solve this problem, all they have to do is sweep the Indiana Pacers.

As that is not likely — although predicting how Indiana is going to play this series is impossible — the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. now has a battle with The Fame Monster on its hands.

The venue is double booked for May 15: Game 6 between the Wizards and Pacers, and a Lady Gaga concert. The fantastic Michael Lee at the Washington Post has the details.

The Wizards released a statement on Saturday night that read, “We are aware of the potential conflict and are working with the promoter in the event Game 6 is necessary, more information will be released when it becomes available.”

They are trying to find a new date… shouldn’t there be some Washington Wizards playoff dates available? They’re not using them.

This does happen every once in a while, remember last season Game 7 in Brooklyn between the Nets and Bulls forced Rihanna to reschedule her concert. They gave her courtside seats and everyone was happy.

What is funny is the Washington Post found some Little Monsters (aka Gaga fans) who took to twitter freaking out about a potential change.

Most exciting twist of the playoffs tbh. And bravo Verizon center management for your faith in the Bullets :man10:

^ I feel like it's more the NBA's fault for scheduling Game 6 at the same time of this concert that's probably been scheduled for months, no?

^^I'm sure the NBA has the potential schedules blocked out in advance of the season actually. They know what days playoff games will be on….. the home court is not decided but I'm sure each team has a guide to go by when scheduling their respective arena's

It would be interesting to see what was scheduled at the Staples Center this year and what will be scheduled next year at playoff time…….. :man10:

Lady Gaga concert rescheduled to make room for Pacers/Wizards Game 6. Gaga fans are pissed.

The Little Monsters are on the rampage… at least on twitter.

For those who are too old or just flat out don’t care, Little Monsters is the nickname of Lady Gaga’s hardcore fans.

Tuesday the Verizon Center announced that Lady Gaga’s concert scheduled for May 15 was moved to May 12, the reason is to make way for the potential Game 6 in the building between the Washington Wizards and the Indiana Pacers. I know, as pathetic as the Pacers looked in Game 1 this may not go six, but the promotors and arena planners can’t count on that.

So they made the change, reports Ben Standig at CSNWashington.com.

Understandably, some people were ticked off — people paid money, cleared out calendar days, in some cases booked flights and hotel rooms and now have to try to change it. If they can.

But some of the venting on twitter was pretty funny.
