New Signature Guidelines

New Signature Guidelines

Postby Real Deal on Fri Nov 03, 2006 8:36 am

Maximum signature size is 468x100 pixels.

Also, only one image is allowed in your signature*, with a maximum of three lines of text, and no member quotes. Advertising/promoting products and/or other sites will no longer be allowed, unless you are affiliated with ClubLakers. No exceptions.

*If you do not use the three lines of text, you may add one 468x20 userbar below your first image.

If your signature breaks the guidelines, you will be asked to remove it (via PM). You have 24 hours to remove your signature after the PM is read. If you decide to ignore the request, your signature privileges will be cut to just text.

Here are examples of what you can have:

=====Example 1=====

=====Example 2=====

Lakers 2-0
Real Deal is the greatest.
Heat 0-82

=====Example 3=====

=====Example 4=====

Lakers 2-0
Real Deal is the greatest.
Heat 0-82

We have eliminated advertising in signatures, unless you are an affiliate of the Club Network. We are also going to enforce the "no member quotes" rule. This is to prevent baiting, and it's either we don't enforce it for everyone, or we do.

The guidelines are a bit more strict, but we did give you guys extra room in your sig image, so please try and accept these guidelines and stick with the signature limits at all times. If you see a member in violation of the sig guidelines, it's always best to shoot them a friendly PM and link them to this thread, or the official Clublakers Guidelines.

Questions and comments in here, please.

What if we ask for permission for the member's quote, just like I used to have your hilarious D-Wade quote?

Also, finally... I've been lobbying for a 468x100 limit for how long now? :man10:

May I ask why you decided to change sig limits?

And why is it that we can't quote people exactly?

if you read the rules, you would know your sig also needs some refinement.
you have to take off the link to other sites.

Because a lot of the time it is used to mock another member or to make fun of their post. I know in some cases it's used as a joke. Or you're friends with that member and it might seem to be a negative thing to some members not in the know, but is really just sarcasm or something funny between the two, well that's difficult for a new member to tell. That and it's too difficult to police, well ok, that one is allowed but not that one. So, the staff just decided to do away with it completely.

Help, I can't get any signatures to show up. The "always show signature" box is marked "yes", and I've been adding some different signatures but none are showing up. Thanks!

EDIT: Nevermind, forgot about one other siggy button to click on. Fixed!
