Preview: Lakers Visit Rose Garden
The Lakers look to extend their 10 game winning streak to 11 tonight, as they battle the Portland Trail Blazers for the 2nd time in 3 games.
Los Angeles is coming off a 106-88 win over Miami on Thursday night. Kobe Bryant scored 21 points and dished out 8 assists, but it was Jordan Farmar who led the the Lakers in scoring, connecting on 9 of 14 field goal attempts en route to a career high 24 points. “It’s great. He has (Farmar) been shooting the ball extremely well the last two games but he does more than that and it’s not something where him scoring is the only way he can effect the game out there, Kobe Bryant said.” Ronny Turiaf had 12 rebounds and 3 blocks off the bench for LA. Sasha Vujacic added to Los Angeles’ bench production as well, scoring 12 points on 5-9 shooting from the field. “I think they bring a lot of spirit to the game and their confidence,” said Lakers coach Phil Jackson on the bench. “The more minutes they play, the better they play, and the better they play, the more minutes they get.” In their previous meeting with Portland, LA erased an early 15 point deficit to come back and win, 96-83. “It’s going to be a very very tough game tomorrow,” said Kobe Bryant on playng in Portland. “We are all excited about it…and we are looking forward to this challenge.” The Lakers will look to snap a 4 game losing streak at the Rose Garden tonight.
