Rashard Lewis Becomes Free Agent
Rashard Lewis has opted out of his contract and will become a free agent on July 1, adding himself to high-demand list for the Los Angeles Lakers.
The Sonics are the only team that can sign him to a full six-year contract.
Lenny Wilkens: “It was in his contract that he could become a free agent. And you can’t blame him for wanting to see what’s out there, but that won’t stop us from trying to get it done.”
Rashard Lewis: “I’m excited about where I stand in the NBA … My heart will always be here - even if I play somewhere else.”
