Return to Glory

First off you will not see any wild unreasonable scenerios here. There is no need to trade Bynum or Lamar Odom. What’s needed is a defensive point guard that can handle the ball under pressure without turning it over aka Steve Blake, or Antonio Daniels through a trade. For all you stat lovers take a look at Phil Jackson coached teams. One thing they do well is defend! Defending gives you additonal opportunites to score even when you big guns can’t buy a basket. Ask Tony PARKER & DUNCAN. The 2000 Laker team had a 46%Fg as a team and held teams to 43% shooting. 2001 was more of the same 46% fg while holding teams to 42% shooting. The Lakers need minor tweaking only, after making a move to get someone that can keep the opposing point guard out of the paint another offseason priority is bringing in a better perimeter defending small forward. Luke Walton as heady, smart and finally develped a shot to go with is good playmaking skills but he turns the ball over too much in crunch time and his is a below average defender. Kwame needs only to stay healthy, I think he has proven that he can be a capable plug in the middle, rebounding, shot blocking and finishing around the basket along with emerging back-up Bynum the center spot is one of the best in the WEST…Yes I said it! Lamar Odom has shown me he is a true baller. The death of a child, knee injury and shoulder issues, he still was competing at a high level when in the lineup. On his way to a career year before the series of injuries. On the trade front, What has Jermaine Oneal done? I remember his Pacers being up on the Pistons and he Lauded no one can stop him. Well Ben Wallace did just that! Also remember those New Jersey teams? Remember what Kenyon Martin did to him? Shut him down that’s what! He’s shown to be a stats no substance guy and plus how many guys do you have to give up to make the salaries work. Please let’s not forget the triangle is complex and you don’t need 4 new guys trying to learn it at once. Phil Jackson teams has never made major changes to it’s core. Upgrade at point guard good health and a new small forward…Please trade for Artest and offer Jordan Famar and a sign and trade of Luke Walton. If not pursue Grant Hill strong! Keep Radmanovic! When healthy, and not with a broken finger on his shooting hand he can be a lights out shooter. Year 2 under the triangle for him. with Kobe and Lamar penetrating he should get some nice looks, seeing 18-25 min a game playing time. The key here is defense, defense and more defense and playing within the fundamentals of the triangle. Jason Kidd is nice, just not worth 19 & 22 mil and gutting your team. Baron Davis? Need I saw more, woofing and acting as though they won a championship after dunking on Kirilenko is not the type of players the Lakers need. Let us not forget how this same player layed down on the Hornets and Mike Montgomery and he has a huge salary, has knee problems, weight issues and just can’t stay healthy? Mitch Kupchak is no fool those are moves not needed, Jerry Buss here is the real issue, refusing to spend the Mid-Level every year, this dates back to when Shaq was there. Kobe has to step up and lead and play DEFENSE again. Remember guys last year Kobe started the year less than himself coming off knee surgey, Luke messed his ankles up, the Radmanovic debacle, Lamar’s injuries, Kwame’s ankles and Brian Cook missed considerable time also. Injuries are a part of the game but by my count that’s 4 starters missing considerable time and one superstar scoring 40pts a game in a month on a leg that was probably 75% at best? Be patients guys the ZEN-Master is no fool! Final note, i wish David Stern and these owners would loosen the rules to allow more player movement, it’s a shame KG is at home during the playoffs every year. Football and Baseball has good player movement and you don’t see Hall of Fame players languashing on bad teams. Players are no longer traded in the NBA, contracts are traded which is why no one watch the finals..Please reply I have an answer for your every reasonable question.

Signed,

Magic,Bird, Jordan
